The Future of the Snippets Playground and a little something you might like

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who commented and even sent emails about the future of the Playground. A few sniffles here and I was very touched by your concern and understanding that it was all becoming a marathon. So, the decision is that we go for Option B - we have a weekly Mr. Linky and I do a very quick post, new Mr Linky and snippets card each Sunday. Obviously I'll try to perhaps point out some tips, hints, news (aka shenanigans!!) and such that I pick up when going round snippets entries - but hopping around blogs is up to you, by using the previous week's Mr Linky. Yay! I think it could work girls - already this week we have nine entries as I'm typing this. And here's another snippets card:
I used:

- A6 white card stock

- two snippets of silver backing card

- a snippet of white card, run through the Cuttlebug with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder. In order to get the length I didn't run the card right through, just to about an inch of the end of the folder - then turned the folder round making sure the embossed dots on the card lined up with the folder and embossed the remainder of the card

- a snippet of white card, stamped using a Sheena Douglas set called 'A Little Bit Festive - Mistletoe', coloured with Pro Markers. The bow was stamped and coloured separately, coloured with Pro Markers, cut out, curved a little bit around a Pro Marker barrel and then attached with snippets of sticky pad

- sentiment, also from the set, was stamped using SU's 'Rose Red' stampin' spot

You like?

If so, this set below is to be won 'cos it fell into my shopping basket when I bought the one I used above:
To be 'in it to win it', just link up to a snippets 'make' of some sort this week and I'll draw  a winner on Saturday after the Playground closes. You can add more than one 'make' if you wish, the more the merrier, but there's a maximum of three chances per person.

Oh, if you already have the set or just don't fancy it (although even the little border would be fun to use in scrap booking I should imagine) - please leave a little comment to say so and I won't include you.

Let's see how it goes huh?

Again, you're all little stars - I thank you!!

Di

  1. Your card is so pretty...Love that stamp...well it's a good thing I have three snippet cards ready to post
The posts are already written but now I have to take the photos and link them into the posts....

I swear it takes longer to write a post, photograph it, load it and link it, look up challenges and enter and link to them, and finally leave comments on all that you entered, than it does to make a card. Whew! I'm exhausted just thinking of it...teehee

Thanks for the chance to win the stamp!
Eager to see what your other crafty plans might be after the Workshop settles down to the new rules!

  3. Hi Tamara, first of all thank you for being a follower and commenting lately :)

The Snippets Playground is really just some fun - to join in you have to make and link into the Playground something using 'scraps' or as we call them 'snippets'. This can be on a card or almost anything else. The 'challenge' runs from each Sunday morning to Saturday. Sometimes, but not always, there will be prizes.

Oh, and then people do try to visit your blog to say 'hello' so it's a great way to 'meet' other bloggers and to also visit them. The girls in the Playground are all good fun - Di xx

  4. Lovely card Di and great tip about the embossing folder, I just bought one where there is a slit in the end so you can make longer strips of embossing but not tried it yet. I am so pleased the playground will be continuing as it is the only challenge I partake in regularly and the girls are so much fun too. I will miss the rollcall as i really enjoy your take on the world but I completely understand the time it takes, it is good to know that we don't have to take down any of the new stuff too. Hugs, Amanda x

A BIG THANK YOU for all the effort you've put in Di. You're terrific.

Loving this festive card and the stamp set is great. Please leave me OUT of the drawer though as I was lucky enough to win your last prize. xxxx

Glad Option B won in the end. I would hate for it to fold and I don't fink it would be the same without you ringing the bell!

    Hugs

  7. Great news Di, so pleased the playground lives on. We don't want squatters in the treehouse now do we?

Love the card VERY much but have to say mistletoe doesn't hold fond memories in our house! As a small child, while my Mum was at church and Dad was washing his car, I fed my sister all of the berries off our Christmas mistletoe. She seemed to be enjoying them so I kept on going until all of the 'grapes' were gone! Oh dear, poor little bugger had to have her stomach pumped :( Amazing that she still speaks to me!

Thanks for the chance to win the lovely prize, you are good through and through!

    Big hugs xx

  8. Fabulous card Di, well thought out and a tad different image, just great.
With being away at the weekend didn't read the full Snippets report, just commented on your card. So didn't realise about the dilema you were haveing but I think you have taken the right decision although I have no right to comment as not been a really good friend in hardly entering, but .. I forget, I do make cards using snippets, but I am ashaimed to say that I forget to enter.
    Sorry Di.
My results from the biopsy were good, everything ok.
I think that you have done a magnificent job with the snippets commenting and you are a tip top blogger. I would have fallen by the wayside far earlier than you have.

  11. I love Sheena's stamps Di and you have made a gorgeous creation with the stamps. Again I love the clean and simplistic lines. The little edge of holographic mirri just livens it up enough! Great

    Hugs Sue Pxxx

PS My snippet collection is growing at the moment so who knows I may be joining in very soon!!!

  12. Again, what a sweet card. Do I like it? Oh yes I do. Wishing you a most wonderful day.. Oh, the shadow box I posted is made from snippets. My husband made it from recycled wood and glass he has in his stash. The embellishments are all little things I've had left over or tucked away in my stash. Happy Wednesday to you!

  13. Hi Di!

Everyone here is happyily in front of the telly on this Thanksgiving eve. Me and DIL got lots done today, so tomorrow will be easier.

Had a minute to stop back and see your decision. I'm so pleased you chose Option B and that the shenanigans over at the playground will continue!!

Will we be having a celebration and parade? You'd look so fly up on a float! And I can bring turkey sannies and cranberry marqueritas, er, juice!
