WOYWW - 150

I could bore you to death with photos of piles of wedding invitations, that were hurriedly cleared from the desk late yesterday so I could have half an hour of play time. But, instead I'll just bore you with a peek at the storage for dies that I've been sorting out in little breaks between making invitations :)

I find the organisation of crafting goodies almost as much fun as using them - and, unlike a lot of lucky people, have very little free wall space here so don't have the luxury of suspending things from hooks, shelves and magnetic knife racks :(

This is the next best thing though, instead of rattling through CD cases and packets I just flip through a file now - the A4 magnetic sheets came from First4Magnets and I already had a spare file and heavy duty plastic pockets. Of course TH and other thick dies are still in the RU Box :)

The index page to the left is just to remind me of the names of the smaller dies that were still in packets, I just snipped the relevant bit from the back of the packet before storing the dies in the folder. One packet of flower dies is too sticky to snip so I'll just die cut the three little flowers before adding them to this sheet, sticking it into a poly pocket and popping it in the front of the file.

To be much more entertained, do hop over to Julia's here where you can see what she's currently up to, along with loads of other WOYWW-ers as well :)

As a few of you know, last week was not good here and I did struggle to visit everyone who left lovely comments. Apologies for that, and I'll be hopping round as normal this week.

Have a great day! Me? In between blog hopping I'll still be working on those invitations :( Come and help if you like!

Di

  1. You can sure tell it's spring, all the crafters are organizing. I store my dies on magnet sheets too. The CD boxes were ok when I only had a few, but I agree with you...too hard to thumb through. I'd love to hop on over to help with the invitations....won't it be fun when we can beam up from one place to another? Have a most wonderful week. See you on the playgound.

  7. Hi Di
I'm so sorry about your difficult times and I'm sorry I missed your post (Easter Hols). Sending you a hug my friend.
You made me smile though, are you still organising???? You put the rest of us to shame. It's a great way of storing all those pesky dies that slip and slide all over the place if they are not fixed down though.
Good luck with the invitations and Happy WOYWW

  10. I love all your organising Di - very much like me! I've not got enough Die's to put in a folder, but I suppose if I start early it will save time later. Such pretty die cuts in the folder. Have fun, Karen 78 x

  12. I don't have any dies (yet!). They look really pretty even in storage. I love organising and tidying my craft bits, it's the only tidying I do enjoy though! ~#40

  15. What is "normal" with you? Still reeling over the Ken story!! LOL!
Love that you are being sooo organised. I don't need to organise mine as I only have one set of nesties. Awwwwww! I do like a good organise of my stamps and paper occasionally though and I have recently had to move stuff round my room to fit more dies in! Oops!

  16. Hello Di, hope work on those invitations is going well. Love your storage for your dies - very organised. Fortunately, I've only got a handful of dies I keep them in a box for now. Got to agree with you that it's almost as satisfying organising stash as it is using it :) Happy WOYWW and I hope you have a lovely week. Elizabeth x #27

  17. I'm so impressed with your storage of the dies, Di - in my photos today you can see a really useful box with the dies just loose inside (perhaps I spend too long on the swings and not enough time organising dies - strange for me really, because I do like to have everything organised, but it just shows that I'm far from perfect - lol!) - Hazel, WOYWW #85 x

  18. Hi Di!

You are one organized lady! I have a small collection of dies and need to get them under control. I think I'll do something similar to you.

Bless your heart. I hope this week goes better.

Those wedding invitations are just beautiful. I'm sure the bride appreciates all that you've put into them. When's the wedding?

    Hugs,
    Kay

  20. I love organising - it's not that I've got OCD, it's just that I hate wasting time searching for stuff!
I didn't realise that I wasn't a follower - how did that happen?? Anyway, I am now so I too can follow your mad tales. Am still laughing at the Nude Len story.... :D
And I'm sorry that you lost both dear friends like that, but oh, I hope that happens to me and DH. I'd hate to be without him.....

  21. I love organizing too and agree that sometimes it is as fun as crafting. I ditched the CD cases too--too cumbersome and bulky. I put my dies in a different CD holder--it is a little box that has hanging sleeves for your CDs. I thought about the method you are using but don't really have anywhere convenient to store the binders.

  22. I hate organising..... yours looks great. I store my dies in a similar way though, but am not totally convinced of it, the ones at the front and the back keep falling off their sheets.... hmm, maybe your sheets are better....

Have a great week and enjoy this special WOYWW!

  31. Good luck with those invitations. I feel your pain, I made some at the end of last year and it all but killed my creativity. I vowed that I would never again make more than one of anything. LOL (Like that is going to happen!)
    Happy WOYWW

  32. I have some of my dies on magnets and some not so lucky and I keep them in folders, I have been looking around to find magnetic sheets without luck, thank you for showing me the way.

I hope you finish your invitations rapidly.

  33. You could never be boring. I may try that storage one day, unless the government make retirement illegal of course.x

  34. Still only have a few dies so the CD cases aren't taking up to much landscape YET. At least I hope one day I'll have enough to switch over to your lovely binder system.
Wish I could hop the pond and give you a hand with those invites. Repetitive work is so boring, having someone to share the job and have a few giggles makes it much more fun. I agree, don't know how Jules does it, my hats off to her as well.
    Love & Hugs
