Anyone for a go on the swings?

This little image reminded me so much of the Snippets Playground - I'd already decoupaged and layered it a while back and found it hidden in a box just waiting to be used:
I used:

- 6" x 6" square white card stock

- GorJuss girl decoupage

- all backing papers came from the 'Bird Song' 6" square pad by First Edition - someone else I visit had recently used this (ack, should have written down who it was, sorry) and I was prompted to dig my hardly used pad out. Sigh, there's an 8" square one lurking somewhere as well - note to self, organise backing papers!

- some edges were trimmed using Martha Stewart's 'Arch Lattice Edge' punch

- sentiment is by LOTV, stamped using Brilliance 'Pearlescent Chocolate' then punched out with a SU round punch

- ribbon from the ribbon box

- the pearly flower was in a partly used pack, hiding in my big box of gems

I played around with Twinkling H2Os yesterday morning for a while, problem is I just know the result will be a so-and-so to photograph if the lovely sheen is to show up - and it's so essential to the image I coloured that my prayer mat is out for some sunshine today! Remember that big round thing we used to see in the sky that only comes out to play every now and then at the moment? :(

  1. Lovely card, Di. I love the image of course but it's the pink and brown colour combination that really appeals to me - love it. We did see some sunshine on Day 1 of 2013 and I'm thinking that could be a sign of better to come ... surely the rain has to end some time! Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  4. Love the little girl with the cat on her lap. Recognise that ribbon. Got a reel of it myself. Just 2 traumas today! Sipping a coffee with baileys in it as I type. Just about to down load a crime book for the Jan challenge. Sleep tight. Hugs Mrs A.

  7. She is lovely isn't she? You have used such a pretty mix of papers and embellishments too. I might pop into the playground now and then this year as I have finally sorted my snippets into colour groups which hopefully will make them easier to use. Kate x

Thanks for entering my little quiz and for posting the banner onto your blog.

Loving your cute card. I can see why it would remind you of the playground!

My eldest Son and his wife have arrived with us now .. .. they are calling it Christmas number three as they had a Christmas at home, one at my DIL's parents and now one with us.

    Have a good day.

  12. Aw! Such a cutie card Di. She is gorjuss in fact!! We had a blue thing in the sky earlier. Is that connected to the yellow thing? We also had the moon at the same time. I was up very early to see the girls and let them out!
Thinking of taking a photo of you and Ann out to put in the coup to encourage them to lay!! Do you think it will work?

  15. Isn't it great when you find an image all ready to add to a card, and this is fabulous and used with great matching papers, all round fab card.

Oh Doctor I'm in trouble, well goodness gracious me.
I made some of Di's piccalli but did not stick entirely to the recipe,
Gave a jar to a neighbour, who called on me today.
And asked for the recipe, well what could I say,
I did not stick to it exactly, as some ingrediants were not in stock,
And the fact that it turned out great, was such a shock.

When I get round to it, due to one thing and another, baby sitting my Sister today while her Hubby had a few jobs to attend to and didn't want to leave her on her own.
I have tried and tried to use all these fancy flowers and create a great display but they have always ended up c---. and I have checked your blog and see that you don't really use them either SO I am going to send them to you so that you can use them as candy for the Playground, you can do it as you wish, all at once or split it up into a few times.
Don't hold your breath thoug but I will do as soon as can.

    Kath x
