Shake your tail feathers

........and what a display they would make. I love peacocks and the glorious colours in their feathers - although my Mum was very superstitious and wouldn't entertain having a peacocks feather in the house, something about the Evil-Eye I seem to recall.

Not sure what she'd have made of this card then:

The close-up above is the best piccie I could get to try and show the iridescence of using Twinkling H2Os - in real life it shimmers beautifully.

I used:

- A6 white card stock

- image from the Stampendous set called 'Proud Peacock', coloured with Twinkling H2Os - ages since I used these cute little pots of solid paint and that needs to be rectified 'cos it was very relaxing just sitting quietly painting away in my own little world

- frame was embossed using Crafts Too's 'Scrollwork Frame' folder

- peacock blue Core'dinations backing card just to edge the frame

- sentiment is also from the 'Proud Peacock' stamp set, stamped using Memento 'Teal Zeal'. The set comes with three different sets of words and the scrolling frame is separate, also in the same set. Oh, and there's a single peacock feather and a row of three in the set too - so altogether quite a bit to play with..........unless you're superstitious of course :)

And this is how I store the H2Os - in a shallow A4 sized Really Useful box with a  divided insert.

  1. Hi Di, beautiful card - the colouring is superb and I love the shimmer. I'm drooling over your fab selection of H2Os - it makes my one set look puny :)) Seriously, they do look tidy in that storage box. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  8. A lovely card. My mum wouldn't have the feathers in the house either, but I have four from when a friend used to have peacocks living wild on her deer farm, so it is a good thing I am not superstitious.
I am profoundly jealous of your H2O collection. I love using them, but only have a small range of colours (so far!). Kate x

  12. Gorgeous card there Miss Di and OMWord have't you got some H2Os? I have none, count them, none! Maybe I should try some but like pan pastels I am afraid they would be addictive and I already have some of those....addictions!

  15. Funny but I am not a fan of peacock feathers, love to see the birds IRL but the odd feather creeps me a tad.
My H2Os are stored in a carrier bag in my ready to throw away draw when my Hubby isn't looking, packed up on them years ago.
Thanks for mail, will reply asap.

OOps love the card though, looks fab in the frame, great CAS too.

  17. Oooohhh, Di! Those H2O's are really for drooling over. Like Elizabeth, I only have a very few, which I got recently, but I do want more now that I have tried them. They are the perfect medium for a peacock. You have also reminded me that when I was little, my gran gave me an ostrich feather fan, which was kept in an old tin hat box. Sadly, when I got it out for my granddaughters to play with, it fell into millions of tiny bits. xx Maggie
