The current challenge over at Less Is More is 'Drinks' and it runs for two weeks:
Ack, the light is really bad here today :(
I used:
- 6" x 6" square white card stock
- a stamp, totally unbranded or named, and I masked off the funny little party 'tooter' and one of those blow out unfurling thingies as they sort of jarred with me. Tickled with Pro Markers, gold pen and some 'Crystal Ice' Stickles
- double embossed lines at the top and bottom of the card
- 'Britannia' numbers cut using a die from Joanna Sheen then coloured with the same green Pro Marker as the bottle of bubbly
That was the easy part - Santa brought me a Xyron machine and I couldn't wait to use it. Ha, only put the numbers in so that the sticky ended up on the front and not the back :( Back to the Cuttlebug to make a second set! Sigh, the instruction booklet, to be fair, wasn't very clear. That's my excuse anyhow......always put the right side up!
But, I wish you all a Happy 2013 - preferably not sticky :)

I'm no good at the Clean and Simple cards but you have got it off to a 'T'. This is so simple and elegant.
ReplyDeleteXyron machines are very useful for fiddly die cuts but you have to be very careful not to tear any fine lines. I have four sizes of Xyrons from when I was working with Nursery, but I haven't bought refils for them for years now. The little 'X' shape is the one I find the most useful. Kate x
Stunning card, love the cas style too. I have one of those machines lurking in the cupboard off to find it. Hugs, Amanda x
ReplyDeleteLike your thinking on this card. When I told Fluff that I had a cook named after me the little minx came back and said I quote " Clealy they have named Mrs A. The wrong one. Mrs A. Should be the one who likes a drink!! " Dunno what she means!!! Dunno wot a xyron is neither so had to go have a looksee on the web. Nice machine but too techie for me methinks. Hugs the real Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteGreat card. Happy New Year, like we say NA ZDRAVJE!

Lovely New Year card Di . . .very CAS.
ReplyDeleteI have the little "X" Xyron thingy and I rarely use it cuz I still get in a sticky mess with it. (You just can't HELP some people can you?!)
Anyhoo . . . apart from putting the numbers in the RIGHT WAY UP . . . I've been told you have to BURNISH the items really well BEFORE unpeeling them as this helps with the stringy bits of stickiness.
Happy New Year to you.
Hugs

What a great New Year's card! Happy New Year to you, Di! I hope you know many blessings in 2013!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Di, your so good with these LIM Cards and this one fits the bill so well, all the best to you and yours for 2013 take care xx
ReplyDeleteI think it is good to try out new machines the wrong way round that way you learn what not to do! Really, I think you learn better than way than by reading the instructions, which I know you did, thoroughly, before starting. Great card, nice and simple yet leaves a party impression. Bring it on!
ReplyDeleteVery nifty card! I have a xyron, and it is in the same category as the Cricut (and the Silhouette). Gathering dust. Somebody showed me how to use it ...once. I forgot all they told me. One day.....Loved your card. Hugs
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a bit of fun with your Xyron!
ReplyDeleteSuper card!
Thanks so much
Happy New Year!
