A message from Maggie and a card for her

Maggie emailed me with this message on Friday evening  (the flowers were sent with love and sympathy from all of us in the Snippets Playground after the sudden and sad loss of her husband, Geoff ):

Thank you so much for those beautiful flowers which have just arrived.  It is such a comfort to know that so many people have taken the time to show their support, and it is a comfort.  I am going to print out all the messages we have had and put them, together with all the cards, in a special book that I can take out and read when I need help.
Our two children have been fantastic, and so far, have not let me be alone.  They have come with me to all the arrangement making appointments, reorganised my house so that I can reach everything, and just been there.  They have contacted everyone for me, by phone, email, Facebook.  Everyone has brought their children for the light relief that only children can supply at times like this.

Please thank everyone for me and tell them how much their messages have given me support.
Maggie xx

This card is for Maggie and her family, and was also sent from all of us in the Snippets Playground:
I used:

- A6 white card stock

- Couture Creations 'Tied Together' embossing folder and pearls

- stamped sentiment by American Art Stamp, number GRS20.G, stamped using SU 'Perfect Plum' and die cut using Labels 8 Nestie

- SU 'Perfect Plum' card stock

- butterfly die cut using SU's 'Beautiful Wings' Embosslit, and a little strip of pearls added

I made this card with such a heavy heart, barely able to comprehend how Maggie must be feeling right now - I know we all feel so truly saddened.

Then I thought more about the sentiment and realised that Geoff already was a real treasure, during all the happy years he and Maggie had together - and, strangely enough, at that very moment the sun broke through the clouds here as if to say 'Too right'!

Oh, Di, thank for sending flowers and the beautiful card on our behalf. The sentiment is just so right and hopefully Maggie will take comfort from it and she clearly appreciated your kind gesture. She has been in my thoughts constantly over the last few days. It's good to see that she has a loving and supportive family and friends to comfort her during this sad time. Elizabeth xx

You too are a treasure Di for organising all that. Thank you so much. None of us know what is round the next corner do we? Maggie has been in my thoughts all week and I have also comforted a dear little friend [only 35] who has just suddenly lost her Dad while he was on holiday with them in Wales. So my heart has felt pretty heavy this week. I am so very glad to hear that Maggie has such a supportive family. She will get there and I know in our little way each and every one of us will lift her spirit when we can.
Thanks again Di,
Annie x

Glad you had a fab time yesterday at Ally Pally, and I see that it's still standing - amazing!! :-)

And finally, thank you so much for the jars, they arrived yesterday, I laughed at the 'pixie post' stamp and the card is great. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much, Di, for the beautiful (and perfect) card you made for Maggie, for sending the flowers, and for printing her message for all of us to see. It is beyond comprehension until one walks in those shoes, but still one's heart breaks for her.

(Please let me know how I can donate to the fund for flowers.)

Di, this is a most beautiful card, and you used the same sentiment I had intended to use for the card I'd like to send (great minds and all that). Thank you for doing so much for us Playground folks to let Maggie know of our support. This is such a hard time when it happens to is never ready to face it. I'm so thankful that Maggie has a family who can be there to help her get through this difficult time. Hugs & many thanks.
