Card for Baby Luke

Our neighbours had a new baby boy, called Luke, recently - the image I was colouring with chalks and the 'newly discovered' Dove blending tool was lying on my desk on WOYWW last week.  This is the end result:
I used:

- 6" x 6" scalloped edge square card stock (from Craftwork Cards)

- image by LOTV called 'Special Delivery' - it comes with the sentiment which is handy. Stamped in Memento and coloured using Pebbles Chalks and the 'new toy' Dove blender pen. I need a lot more practise, but Rome wasn't built in a day

- plain blue backing card from stash, punched with SU scalloped circle punch to go behind the sentiment and punched using a MS PATP set to go behind the image

- blue gingham paper from Wild Rose Studio's 'Gorgeous Ginghams' paper pack'

- printed 'baby boy' ribbon, blue and white bakers twine and the little blue dummy are all from stash. If anyone wants to know where the dummies came from (they come in clear, pink and blue) just leave a comment and I'll dig out the hidden 'file that I'm dead meat if Len ever finds it 'cos it has all my craft receipts in' and let you know :)

- 'Luke' was printed using the PC and then just a couple of little Josy Rose stars to finish off

I nipped round with it but just popped it through the door and ran away - it needed a box so maybe they thought it was a Luke-sized pizza coming through the letter box :))

  1. Most pizza delivery folk wait til the door's opened so that the topping doesn't end up in the end of the box Di :-) :-) :-)
I really love the delicate effect of the chalks....just perfect for a new baby.

  2. Sheesh Annie - so that's why I got sacked years ago, and they took my moped with the big box on the back away from me :) Di xx

  3. LOL at the comments above!

GORGEOUS card and the chalks/blender combo worked a treat. xxx

  4. A beautiful Baby card Di, I love the image and design. Fabulous colouring with chalks.

  5. You know I'm going to be that one annoying person that asks you where you get the dummies from... *smiles sweetly* 0:-) <- that's my halo!
Gorgeous card for baby Luke! The chalks look great, they seem to be becoming increasingly popular! They work great for soft cards like this too. Great stuff Di xxx

  6. A really cute baby card, Luke's Mum and Dad will love it.

  7. gorgeous Di!! love the little dummy too

  8. Oh, this is so cute and precious and just melts my heart!

  9. Oh this turned out so beautifully. I found Dove's website (in Florida) and thought all their prices were very reasonable so might order the blender and fluid. It was a bit funky though don't you think? For a professional company they could at least have spell checked their website text, lol!

  10. Hi Di, Oh what a lovely card for your neighbour they will be so pleased and l have just bought some Dover chalk never used them before but was inspired by one of the bloggers using them on skin tones any chance of a tutorial Di?!!:)

  11. Its just adorable, loving that image, another one for my list;0 Must have been a nice surprise when they opened the box, or disappointment if they were hungry lol.

  12. awww, this is so sweet! i love that little teddy image and all the blue!

  13. Oh, this is so sweet, a fabulous card, great image, papers and embellies.
I wish who ever it is that keeps swopping my keys on the keyboard would stop it.

  14. Aww just adorable, love that image and the soft colors. It must have been a sweet surprise but I'd have gone in and tried for a little snuggle with that new baby. They always smell so lovely.

  15. LOL re the hidden file!!!
I don't have a file like that, but I switched my bank account to paperless statements just in case LOL
