Yesterday, Julia, Jan and I met up with Brenda B (of WOYWW, Rudolph Day and of course the Snippets Playground fame) and her hubby who are over from Michigan at the moment. We also met Brenda's Mum ( one lady who everyone would love to have as a Mum, perhaps we can adopt her for the Playground), mooched around Salisbury and had a lovely day ............. this is just one piccie of many taken so kindly by Andrew:
Left to right are Julia, Jan, Brenda and moi. My bag says 'Fassion City' sic, not Passion City as 'she who shall remain nameless' thought!
The problem for me was what to 'make and take for Brenda' that was light and non-crushable for the purposes of packing at the end of their holiday. I opted for magnetic 'Flip over the Page' bookmarks - no surprise there really as I love making these:
I used cream card for Brenda's and kept all the bookmarks very simple (not being able to sit and craft for much time in one spell), different stamps and inks. So as not to leave Andrew out, I made four bookmarks for Brenda plus two (using Kraft card) for Andrew. This is a close up of one of Andrews:
And a sideways view so you can see the magnet and how it works:
Has anyone noticed the super stamp I used on top of the stamped seahorse? I think it's stunning and so realistic but you'll have to wait for the Snippets Playground and my snippets card (sometime soon) to find out more - oooer, I'm so, so bad!
Then I made a couple of envelopes, with Papermania magnetic closing studs:
Andrew's envelope was green and not pink I hasten to add :)
A lovely day with good friends, WHAT more can you ask?
Di

YOu couldn't possibly ask for more than a fun day spent with great friends! You all look so delighted to be with one another, and I'm happy for all of you! The bookmarks are clever too - I've never seen them with magnets, but what a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteVery jealous I am! lol! Looks like you all had a great day and that's the important thing.

These look a good idea. Glad you enjoyed your day all together. Hugs Mrs a.
ReplyDeleteFabulous idea - I may have to steal it, as I need about 16 gifts to bring with me to the UK next month. I am heading for the Craft Barn Extravaganza again, from t'other side of the world
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun outing. Next time....I'll be willing to take photos, so Andrew can be in them too...aren't I generous... What a great idea you had, and yes, the sea horse ad me wondering...how'd you do that. I can't believe it's a stamp.
ReplyDeleteYou had a great time in company,
ReplyDeletenice-I am happy for all you.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a fab day out and I love wandering around Salisbury. The bookmarks are great too - I so want that stamp but it's out of stock at the moment x
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say, Di, apart from 'wish I was there'! You all look as though you are thoroughly enjoying yourselves. Nice of you to give me a moment's thought during such a super day ... I was there in spirit even though I couldn't be there in person. We are going up country this year, to the Highlands, so no chance that I'll be down your way anytime soon ... maybe next year, who knows :) Love the bookmarks - I remember well that it was you who passed on how to make them (not to mention the magnet closures) - and that 'bubble' effect on the seahorse bookmark is super so look forward to the great reveal on Sunday :)) Hugs, Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteGreat makes on the bookmarks, fab idea.

ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of incredible, is Andrew really as divine as I suspect he is???
Looks like you were all having a wonderful time:) The bookmarks are fantastic! I'd love to try these for chrissy pressies for the girls at work. Yes, I have that stamp too, it's amazing isn't it and perfect here :) Cathy x

What a great day out with friends that must have been! You all look so happy and enjoying yourselves!
ReplyDeleteLove those bookmarks...what a grand idea!
It was indeed a grand day out, especially when we discovered those knitted Wallace and Grommit Dolls in that haberdashery shop! We loved the bookmarks and I know Andrew was very surprised to receive a lovely gift too and keeps asking me if I've emailed you yet to thank you again!! Trying hard to get back in to the swing of things, but not very successfully I might add! Spike has settled in to his new home, you'll be pleased to hear, and he's hoping to make an appearance on WOYWW this week.
