I whistled up a little thank you card - using a Penny Black stamp set that's really the 12 Days of Christmas, but it worked OK as the sentiments are separate:
The message in the insert reads: '. . . for the eggs!'
I used:
- small narrow white card stock, used lengthways
- orange card from the snippets folder and white card for the image
- images stamped using the Penny Black '12 Days of Christmas' clear stamp set (soooo cute, love the chicken with the mobile phone!) plus a sentiment from the SU 'Sincere Salutations' set, with a few dots from me - all using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink pad, plus a Whispers black pen for the dashes, then coloured with Pro Markers
- the green border at the bottom was stamped using a border from the SU 'Vintage Vogue' set and an 'Old Olive' ink spot
And that was it - done, a lot less effort than laying an egg!!!

Oh duck eggs, never tried those, wonder are they much larger than chicken eggs....sorry got diverted from the lovely card thinking about egg and soldiers lol. Would you believe I have this stamp set and it has never seen ink ...oh the shame...off to ink it up right now. Have a great easter Di, hugs, amanda x
ReplyDeleteHi Di
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant way to say "thank you" .. .. so very appropriate.
I hope that you are having a good Easter break.
That cake sounds very yummy!!!
See you in the playground tomorrow.
Love Jules xx
Cute thank you card.....
ReplyDeleteLovely thank you card Di and like the insert. We get eggs from a farm on Anglesey who have an honesty box at the end of their drive. Not sure if you saw my post a few weeks ago but l made them a thank you gift and we dropped it off last weekend. Hopefully they have enjoyed their little chocolate eggs. There's nothing nicer than proper free range eggs, you need sunglasses on as their yolks are so bright lol!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, Rach xx
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this card! Great used of your chicken stamps and your SU's of course.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I might have to give in and get that Sincere Salutations set!
Happy Easter xx

ReplyDeleteI love fresh duck eggs, you are making me so jealous, and they make fantastic cakes. your thank you card is perfect. Thank you for visiting today and for your suggestion about Hazel's challenge. I took your advice and entered. The skep on that flower card of mine was not difficult, just a case of cutting out the shape and stencilling through it and giving the shading. You should watch Barbara's demonstration - brilliant. See you tomorrow in the playground. xx Maggie
ReplyDeleteThis really great, made me smile, love the images and isn't it great when you can use Christmas stamps for something else, bet Friar Tuck loved it, well if Len is Robin Hood, I don't think his mate would be Maid Marion, well, one never knows.
