Less is More Week 206 - New Beginnings

This week's challenge over at Less is More is one layer and the theme is 'New Beginnings'. I knew just which stamp I wanted to use, always a good starting point :)
I used:

- 6" x 6" square card blank - to begin with anyhow!

- then I embossed the front of the card using Crafts-Too's 'Scrollwork Frame' embossing folder - making sure that the edge of the frame was butted right up against the opened out card spine. It worked a treat so then all I had to do was to trim the whole folded card down to the outer edge of the scrollwork frame - making it practically an A6 sized card

- the image was stamped using Memento 'Gray Flannel' ink and a Stampendous stamp from their 'Calendar Chicks' range, called 'Mr. and Mrs. Chick'. Coloured the little cuties using Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and Sansodor blending solution - with just a tickle of clear Wink of Stella on the veil. AND, I remembered to 'ground' the happy couple with a little line of gray pencil

- the sentiment was stamped in Memento 'Gray Flannel' using a couple of stamps from SU's 'Petite Pairs' sentiments set

All I need now is for someone to get married!

  1. OMGosh, this is such a cute, but beautiful card! I love how you combine both in this card Di! The elegance of the fancy die cut and the cuteness of the birds equals one amazing card! Hugs, Brenda

  2. Hello Di,

What an adorable card! The embossing came out looking great too!

It's cold here; we are expecting snow all night and tomorrow. Tomorrow is a scheduled day off for me so I can imagine that the Lab will get a snow day and not open.... oh, but I still have to use my time.

    Hugs,
    Kay
