Jukebox for a chap!

Earlier this week, a good friend's husband celebrated his Birthday. Generally chaps don't get many cards for Birthdays so we've made it a 'thing' to try and remember to send them a hand made card 'each time around the buoy'.

I was a bit pushed for time but did have fun using a Jukebox set of stamps I recently bought, as he likes his music.  This is what I made:
I used:

- 5.75" x 5.75" square white card blank, side opening

- stamps from the Hunkydory 'For the love of stamps' set called 'Rock 'n' Roll Jukebox

- stamped the jukebox onto a snippet of white card, coloured it with Pro markers, carefully fussy cut right round it and set it aside

- trimmed a snippetty strip of Altenew's 'Essential Black & White' paper pack for the bottom of the card

- placed the striped strip and the jukebox where I wanted them to go on the card front, in the Misti, then added the other small stamps round about before removing the jukebox and striped strip - then stamped the small elements, using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink

- added the striped strip to the bottom of the card, using a small tape runner, and trimmed off either side to line up with the card edges

- added a load of thin sticky pads to the back of the jukebox and popped it in place

Finished! OK, so the jukebox isn't as perfectly centred as I wanted it to be - but if I'd tried to move it the whole card would have been wrecked. Those sticky pads don't take any prisoners for sure.

  2. A fabulous card - I'm sure your friend's husband loves it too.

One tip I was given about foam pads is to add a little glue to them as that will give a bit of 'wriggle room' when assembling the card.

  14. This is great. I so remember standing at a jukebox wondering which song to pick. They had so many good ones to choose from. Then, you had to wait because you didn't know how many people had put in money ahead of you in order to listen to your song. [Bunny]

  15. Hi Di,
Well trying new web Brussel on my iPad, various reasons but Safari is hopeless does not ever save blogger password, others yes, but not blogger...and don’t like using Chrome as it’s linked to my private email.
Tried Firefox which was always good but iPad version is not! It won’t save my blogger password either, so this my first go with DuckDuckGo browser in reviews it read best, was thinking of Opera but it didn’t have many reviews. I know I could pay for and download a blogger app but that’s not my choice either. Anyhoo, DuckDuckGo recognised signed in, so okay! Step 1.
Time will tell if it carries over!

I’m rambling on here to say thanks so much for your angel and Joy to the World stamped card.. It really CAS but lovely stamp set. Thanks so much for thinking of me and hope pray you’re all blessed with a wonderful Christmas and healthy 2020.

I’m so glad Dudley is healing well and had to smile that he likes the security blanket of his onesie to sleep, you’ll have to call him Linus, like in the Peanuts, he carried around his blankie. 😊

Glad too, that you’re all organised, dear Di, and I too, always try to make a lot of Christmas cards between Christmas and new year, going to see if I can do two dozen again, it gave me such a good head start last year.
I hope to back blogging soon, we will see how the old girl goes ... certainly taking my time.

Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too.
    Hugs, Shaz in Oz.x

  17. A great masculine card Di. It would probably be good for a teenager as well - but only if you change the sentiment😁 . Have a lovely Christmas and I’ll try to join in more next year over at the playground.xx
