Meanwhile, let's have another Christmas/New Year 'Snippets Playground Celebration' prize:
- 6" x 6" square white card blank, side opening
- snippet of deep blue, almost midnight in some lights, shimmery card, trimmed only slightly smaller than the card front - but not glued in place yet
- snippets of plain white card, die cut using the following dies - The Works 'Joy Message' and The Works 'Snowflakes'
- then added the Joy followed by the snowflakes to the piece of deep blue card - using just a fine glue pen and making sure a couple of the snowflakes were placed 'off the edge'
- snipped the excess from the overhanging snowflakes from the back
- glued the deep blue panel to the card front and popped on a scattering of self-adhesive diamantes to add some sparkle
This was a fun card to make, didn't take too long and the dies are gorgeous! The big snowflake at top left would stand very well on its own on a smallish card and they're the prettiest set of snowflakes I own for sure. The only thing I found is that die cutting the Joy word needed some small shims added to the snowflake part to cut right through, which isn't uncommon when you have a portion of a die within a circle - I just use little pieces of paper to build it up and keep running through my Cuttlebug until the cut is completely through. Everything else cut like a dream and everything also popped straight out of the dies. The Works dies really are very good quality - but as i said previously, they do keep changing their range so if you see a die or set of dies you want then do go ahead and get them at the time!
So, here's today's prize:
At the end of all of the celebrations I'll do a massive draw session for all the prizes using the one Mr Linky - which is on the main snippets post HERE - so you do need to have entered one snippets make over on that post during this fortnight to be in with a chance :) Maximum of one entry please - to keep things fair for those who may not have time to craft. Mr Linky closes at 11am on Saturday 5th January so you do need to have added a snippets make by then to be eligible for the draw.
By the way - I realised that if all goes to plan there will even be a prize on Saturday 5th January. I'll be leaving the comments open on later prizes for at least a couple of extra days to give folk a chance to check what's on offer and say if they're wanting to play for those prizes. I can't leave them open for too long though as of course I want to publish the draw results on Sunday 13th January and it's going to probably take me days to sort out the draw results and write them up. Whoever thought this was a good idea she asks herself?!
Just leave a comment on this post if you would like the chance to win today's prize. The prize isn't going to be split. But, if you have one of the dies/sets or only want one or the other than, as I always say - you can gift what you don't want to a friend at your end! Can't be fairer than that.
Keep checking for more prizes! Am still working on samples for upcoming prizes here but there seems to be a little chink of light at the end of the tunnel ☺
It's a lovely card Di, and I love the snowflakes
ReplyDeleteYes please for the draw
O I love this! I’ve always liked navy blue and this is just a gorgeous set of dies as well! Yes please for the prize!
ReplyDeleteOh what gorgeous dies & a beautiful card, Di! Please include me in the draw for Prize I. Hope Dudley is OK with the noise of New Year's Eve. We're so happy fireworks don't bother Fritz unless they are really loud & close. Even then, he just sits next to one of us & is OK. Wishing you a wonderfully happy 2019--all 3 of you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card - I already have the dies so don't want to go in the draw but thanks for the inspiration for using them!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on not wanting to stay up all night celebrating New Years Eve, but our friends often have a family oriented celebration that includes all the kids and ends well before midnight. This year will skip even that though, with our newborn, so we'll just celebrate quietly at home and probably be asleep by 10:00 pm, lol. Happy New Year to you Di, and yes please to this beautiful set of dies. Keep Dudley close and hope the fireworks don't bother him.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning card Di, and like you, I stay quiet on New Years - there are enough other people sending their money up in smoke for me not to want to do it!
ReplyDeleteHopefully my cat will stay in tonight, but in our hot weather, I doubt it... he usually finds a safe spot and is at the door claiming starvation in the morning!
Count me in for the draw please
Richest blessings for you, DH, Dudley and Parsnip for 2019
Maxine
Love the card today. Very elegant and beautiful. Those snowflakes and the sentiment dies are really gorgeous! So a big yes to the prize today.

Thanks for all the fun in 2018!!
Lia xx
Gorgeous card, Di, love your colour choice. The diamantes are a perfect finishing touch, especially in the middle of the 'o'. I'm a Yes Please for the draw. xx
ReplyDeleteYes please Di, I love your card and could see lots of uses for the Joy, and The snowflakes are so pretty xxx
ReplyDeleteSnowflakes are a weakness for me. Love them and love this card.
ReplyDeleteWe're past the time of staying up to celebrate. Plus, our neighbors will be popping off the fireworks in the distant and hopefully not too close neighborhood.
I know some dogs detest thunder and fireworks. Hopefully Dudley won't bother at all. Let him and Parsnip stay up till midnight and play board games. They can calm each other.............maybe!
Yes, please to the prize.
A Happy and Healthy New Year to you and yours. [Bunny]```
So pretty is your card Di l love the Die and how you incorporated the snowflake and the surrounding snowflakes on the dark background simply gorgeous as always hope you have a lovely new year sending lots of love x

Another gorgeous card -- it must have pained you to snip off those beautiful, delicate snowflakes.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of pretty snowflakes (in paper, not those that fall from the sky, no matter how pretty they are), so yes please.
Wishing you, Len and Dudley a lovely new year.
This is really pretty & quite elegant. Yes, please, to this beautiful prize. Hope everyone has a safe & fun New Year's celebration!!
ReplyDeleteLove you card, not sure why I do very few navy cards will have give it more of try lol. Would love to be in with a chance of the prize. I am off to DD for the evening with Stanley and his girlfriend Millie, he hates fireworks but Millie just looks at him shaking and gets into bed with him to keep him safe. Love Nicky
ReplyDeleteYummy snowflakes and a lovely scrummy die so yes please (if not I'll just have the card instead)
ReplyDeleteHope Dudders isn't too scared - Big hugs and cuddles under the sofa blanket I think (any excuse). xx
Hi Di your card is stunning I love it. Those dies are gorgeous. So it is yea please for the prize. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteYes, please. Two of our cats get terribly afraid of the fireworks. The third sits in the window and wants to see what is going on outside. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteNot our favourite celebration too. We're well past the 'partying to breakfast' stage and more 'in bed by 1 minute past the bells' stage. Hate the fireworks - really, I'm a paid up member of the 'grumpy old woman' fraternity these days. I hope Dudley takes it all in his stride, as he seems to do with everything else. Another lovely card - the snowflakes are gorgeous, as is the 'Joy' die. It's another 'yes, please' but if I'm not lucky I'll be seeking the dies out at The Works. I've said it already this evening but I'll say it again - I wish you and yours health, wealth and happiness in 2019. xx
ReplyDeleteYes please! What a lovely card! Yes, I'm not keen on NYE and all the fireworks. Happy New Year to you, Len, Parsnip and Dudley! Xxx
ReplyDeleteWOW! This card is awesome. Love the colour combo and these snowflakes are amazing.
ReplyDeleteYes for the prize, please.
Happy New Year Di!
Valerija xx
Yes, Please for Prize I. Your card is beautiful. Happy New Year to you, your dear hubby Len and of course Dudley and Parsnip.
ReplyDeleteOh memories, looks like we both were dancing on tables and so on and so on. Have the Joy die not used it yet, but can always case your card, kidding.
ReplyDeleteHad a firework go off an hour ago and such a loud band, it frightened me to death, nearly fell off my chair.
Why do they need bangers.
Oh God another one has just gone off.
Can't remember if I have already said but Justin Case, Happy New Year to you both.
Kath xx
