A card for 'Mister Len'

It's a bit of a standing joke here about how much time Len lavishes on caring for the 'Playground' wildlife. The birds take up a lot of time (and money!) and of course Spike the hedgehog visits during the Summer. So it was only fitting that they should send their own Valentine's Day card to 'Mister Len' :)
I used:

- A6 white card blank

- Penny Black Stickeroo from the 'Embrace' sheet. I did recently buy this stamp 'pre-loved' but time to spend colouring wasn't around - so I used the Stickeroo

- plain orange and yellow card from the snippets folder

- the green spotty paper is by Raspberry Road from a pad called 'Summer Goodness - free with Quick Cards Made Easy magazine a good while back

- the border across the card was punched using Martha Stewart's 'Zigzag' edge punch and topped with a a snippet of orange ribbon

- the sentiment is by Craftwork Cards, popped onto a punched oval

Ha, I bet he guesses I had a little paw in the making though, if he doesn't then I'll begin to worry! :)

  1. I turn my back for 5 mins and another entry pops up and what a little sweetie it is too. Thank you so much for fluttering into my challenge again. I'm so glad I'm not choosing the winner. Hugs Mrs A (butterfly challenge)

  2. Me again without me hat on. This little hedgie is a cutie amongst those flowers and butterflies. I'm still faffing around with The Docs card. How long have I got!!
    Hugs Mrs A.

  3. How cute - looks like spring is coming - we are drowning in snow here - got about one foot today!

  4. This is so cute ! love the papers too huggles Sue xx

  5. Adorable, Di! Bet he's going to love it!

  6. Stunning card Di, I bet the recipient loves it.

  7. Morning Di . . . LOVING the colours you used on this cute card. They say SPRING to me. Your hedgie is really rather clever for making a card for Len!

I will be over to play in Mrs A's Butterfly challenge next week! Haven't made anything this week yet! Not in the mood!

    Hugs, Sarn xxx

  8. What a cutie and such nice summery colours to. Just what we need today - will this rain ever stop? 'sigh'

  9. What a lovely idea Di and, if your weather is as rough as it is along the coast in Dorset, a lovely way to brighten the day too!! xx

  10. I love your hedgehog stamps (I teach the Hedgehog class at school.) What a lovely idea for the card too. x

  11. Awh! This is so cute! How nice of the wildlife to so Len how much they appreciate his care!

  12. Lovely cute card, I love the nice bright colours, just the thing to cheer up this truly horrible dark wet and windy day.
    Jean x

  13. Hello Di,

Happy Valentine's Day to both you and Len. I'm sure he'll appreciate all the little critters love and affection.

I love the Penny Black stamps. I've seen a few at Hobby Lobby - are they a British company?

  14. Not sure why, not very computer savvy, but I can't see your card Miss - will pop over to Mrs A's to look at it there and see if I can see it coming in from a different link xx

  15. Love the colours on your very cute card xxx

  16. So cute image
    fantastic colouring
    great colours
happy Valentine's day my dear friend
    hugs Tamara

  17. Really cute card Di, hope Len liked it, fab image and great choice of colours.
Can't wait now till Summer when I will be in the playground with my butterfly net, capturing the lovely creatures and taking them to a more safe area.

    Kath x

  18. Fabulous card Di ........Gorgeous image and beautifully coloured too x

  19. This is so cute, perfect for a wildlife lover, Cathy x

  20. I never met a hedgie I didn't like, and this is one darling card! I hope to get my entry photographed and edited by tomorrow, and I'll be heading over there too! Thanks for the reminder:)

  21. What a fabulous card with lovely SPRING colors. Indeed, those birds and critters outside expect so much attention and food, but at least they work for it (they don't know that though, but their job is to entertain the cats). I too suspected that butterflies and flowers was a nice slow easing in of the new blog. We'll be working our way up to fully mobile animatronic butterflies in a few months. Just you wait and see!

  22. Awwww! Gorgeous card from the critters there Di. Lovely colours. Surely Parsnip had a paw in the making, after all, I am sure he is grateful for all Len's help!

  23. This hedgie is so sweet, and the citrus colours are just great, Di. I love the MS zigzag border punch, and with that orange ribbon is beautifully finished. x

  24. Aw, this is just the sweetest card from Little Hedge to Mr. Len. I bet he was tickled to receive it. Love the bright pops of color in Hedge's flowers, and I expect with all the rain you've had, the colors cheered immensely. Way to go Hedge, and Tk You for helping Hedge say his thanks! Hugs
