....................I'll be brave enough to make a totally 'white on white' card. This actually started off with those intentions but then I got side tracked :)
I used:
- 6" x 6" square white card blank
- silky matt red mirri card
- white backing card embossed with Crafts-Too 'Lattice' embossing folder
- Memory Box 'Glowing Candles' die, cut once in white and then again in sparkly silver sticky backed paper. The silver pieces were then painstakingly peeled apart to fill in the gaps in the white die - I'll never learn about saving time!
- the oval was cut with a Nestie from the Floral Ovals die set. This set is so popular right now, I keep seeing it pop all over Blogland, and rightly so as it's lovely
- the sentiment is Craftwork cards, popped onto a silver sparkly oval and then onto a scalloped matt red mirri oval - both punched with my usual SU punches
- some red and silver Josy Rose nail heads to finish off
The 'white on white' will happen soon I promise :) If only 'cos this place seems to be overflowing with white snippets - mind you, I reckon WOW will be murder to photograph, this one was bad enough.
Another one for the Christmas card box - I peeked at them yesterday and realised that a lot of recent ones still need inserts though. So that's gonna be one mind-numbingly exciting session here ASAP.

Well you nearly managed it didn't you. I can't get to grips with white on white either. But you have made a lovely card, and hopefully enjoyed doing it, and that's what matters! Kate x
ReplyDeleteTee hee Di.. .. I don't think I have ever done a "totally" white on white project either. I always sneak another colour in there too LOL!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely and deserved extra points for all the patience involved in adding the silver paper pieces .. .. I thought it was glitter to begin with!
Have a good day.
Love Jules xx
Beautiful! The touch of red really enhances the white and silver. Must put that die on my wish list too!

ReplyDeleteThis is striking Di - I love the touch of red to bring the card to life. Great choice of dies and embossing board. I know what you mean about the inserts - last time I was caught out (because I hadn't made the inserts) I promised myself I would finish a card off in total every time I made one - three months' later have I any totally finished cards ...... have I heck!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you Sue Pxxx
Love that die and the touch of red you have used Di, and the embossing is gorgeous. Know what you mean about inserts I have a box full with no insides LOL huggles Sue xxx

How I love this candle die. It's so perfect paired with this floral oval & your silver shine was so beautiful with this. I know you were going for white on white, but truly, this is just stunning. So I loved it just as it turned out. Wonderful effect. TFS & thanks for the blog tip. Gotta check the 'gray heads' too...maybe that is the diff in my list & the spreadsheet cause I don't have those names. Hugs
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Di. I'm too afraid to attempt a WOW card - the thought just makes me jittery. Love the sparkly silver bits - worth the work xx

ReplyDeleteCandle die is another on the wish list... not bad for a white on white card Di.. LOL can you do some inserts for me too???? Think I may resort to a 'Seasons Greetings' stamped directly on the inside....
