Less is More - Washi tape

This week's challenge over at Less is More is to use Washi tape - and this card came about mostly as I had the 'bow' die on my desk:
I used:

- 4" x 4" square white card stock

- three strips of Washi tape across a small piece of card which was then trimmed to a small square before being run through the Cuttlebug using SU's 'Square Lattice' embossing folder

- the 'bow' is die cut from a snippet of silver card using a die from Memory Box's 'Crisp Bows' set and just stuck on using a Quickie glue pen - one of those little gems I wouldn't be without

- no sentiment or anything else added either

I was sooooo pleased last week when Chrissie and Jen picked out this card for the LIM showcase - especially as I'd been having the vapours wondering if adding glitter using double sided adhesive sheet to the numbers would disqualify me:

Thank you ladies, you really made my day! Trumpet blowing session now over, stand easy :)

  1. Blow that trumpet! You certainly deserve to get to do that with that gorgeous winner card.

And, such an adorable CAS card for this week. Love that sweet bow. I may have to get over there and play with my Washi tape this week. :-)

  9. Brilliant use of washi tape, Di, and the card is simply lovely - I can see that fab die getting a lot of use. And congrats on doing so well over at LIM - showcased! And quite right too, it's a fabulous card and I think the glittery numbers add that special something too and the dewdrop berries look good enough for a bird to eat :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  11. DI, I bought the EXACT same lid in Michaels but had to ask for it - it was tucked away with the candles but almost totally obscured from general view. It works just great though, doesn't it? I think you are right about it possibly being Yankee Candle originally though

  17. That is such a lovely card, Di. You carry on blowing your own trumpet. You go for that Gelli plate, and have fun. Don't forget that Barbara is the UK distributor and the starter kit is very good value, and don't forget she is on C&C this weekend, both on Saturday and twice on Sunday. Sorry for tempting you. xx Maggie

  19. I was over behind the maple bullying and distressing some inks when you started trumpeting, Miss Di, and I knew right off that you'd gotten well-deserved recognition for the glittery 12/25 card! You play quite well; wish you hadn't stopped so soon, to tell the truth! A little longer and I would have been able to snatch someone's cookie treat while they were enrapted! Remember that next time, please. Thank you.

I love your sweet Washi package card! It's what I would call - say it with me - well, yes, adorable, but also CASlicious!! Hugs, Darnell
