Welcome to a new Snippets Playground Challenge.
The weather is still pleasantly warm down here in Hampshire, although we've noticed that the nights are cutting in, so it's getting dark earlier already.
And for this challenge we have another lovely
Guest Designer. This time it's
Bonnie Lynn:
Bonnie will tell you all about how she made her lovely card when you hop over
to her blog, link above. I think it's absolutely beautiful - and a good few snippets used - even the pyramids look to be paper pieced using paper/card very much like textured co-ordinations, very clever touch and really brings those pyramids to life. Super clever use of a different die set as well for the foliage - it's a really imaginative scene. And I do so love the sentiment - very true!
The prize this fortnight is:
A Clearly Besotted 'Egyptian Feline' set of stamps from me - thought it was time for a prize featuring cats. This really is the sweetest set of stamps, sadly Clearly Besotted have stopped selling matching dies for their stamps but just look back at how beautifully Bonnie fussy cut all the elements in the gorgeous little scene.
As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks
and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 4th September.
The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same
day.
It's a maximum of ONE entry, please say in a comment if you wish
to play and be a possible winner of the prize. Please also link back to
the Playground in your blog post to be eligible for the draw.
Remember, if you link into the Playground and don't say clearly that you
want to be in the draw in a comment on here, then you will be bypassed
if your name comes out of Mr Linky. I'm sure you all know I ask for a
positive 'yes' on the blog post itself - just in case you're only
playing for fun - otherwise I don't add you to my little list.
Please also remember that I only allow a total of nine
other challenges, which makes 10 in total, when you enter a snippets
make into the Playground.
Yesterday was bathtub day for Dudley. At times it can be like a mini tsunami, if we take our eye off the ball (aka Dudley) and don't immediately wrap him up like a little burrito as he's lifted out onto a very large bath towel on my lap. Now and then, in between baths, Dudley will pop his paws up onto the bathtub just to have a little peep inside. We have no idea what he's looking for - he's just naturally a very inquisitive little dog.
He does look like a white fluffy ball right now - and we're at the point of deciding whether to let his coat keep on growing (whilst keeping his eyes trimmed) or to give him a full trim back into a puppy cut - which is much less likely to matt, meaning an easier life for all of us! The jury is still out here, pondering that decision. I have a feeling that practicality might win over aesthetics, plus he does look so cute with a puppy cut!
EDIT! I originally had a reminder here that it would be 'Rudolph Days Challenge' over at
ScrappyMo's from 25th August to the end of the month. Please note that Mo has
had to cancel the challenge for this month due to family illness and also a very painful injury to her elbow. Get well soon Mo - love from all of us.xx
Stay safe and be kind.
Lots of love from us all - Parsnip,
Dudley and of course me,
That cracks me up about the mini tsunami. I can see it in my head. I'm all for making life easier with the less maintenance on grooming unless Dudley absolutely loves to be groomed. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteBonnie's card is delightful and so different! Such cute Egyptian kitty!
ReplyDeleteHugs, and cuddles to the fluffy ball! :D
Thank you Di for the pleasure of being this challenge's guest designer. I cannot wait to see what everyone creates over the next couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteAdorable card and prize, just here for fun Di thanks, and I'd go with practical if I were you! love to you all xxx
ReplyDeleteA great card featuring some of the cat stamps. Playing along for fun this time around as I'm trying hard not to add to my stash and it will give the others more chance in the draw.
ReplyDeleteA lovely cute card and a great design. Hugs, Carol S.xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card & stamp set! I didn't know CB didn't have matching dies anymore. I better treasure the one I have! Keep me out of the drawing this time, please. Practicality wins out here & this time I made an appt for Fritz before he got so scruffy! I love the furry look, but too much shedding & baths take longer, etc. Dudley is a cutie in every picture I've ever seen--no matter his look!
ReplyDeleteMorning all,
ReplyDeleteJust added my entry .. whilst the make and the prize are indeed ADORABLE, I'm just playing for fun this time around
You conjured up such a fun image of Dudders as a burrito!
Happy Monday
Kathyk

ReplyDeleteBonnie, That's such an incredible card! Love the paper piecing. How could any self-proclaimed "crazy cat lady" not toss her hat into the ring for that prize? :-D
ReplyDeleteHow CUTE! I'm going to play along - because I love to use my snippets and I love to play along in the Playground. I won't be playing for the prize this time; but just for fun. Thanks for the inspiration.

ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card made by Bonnie Lynn and full of wonderful snippets using these Egyptian themed cats and embellishments. I have entered a card this time but will play just for fun Di. Dudley's antics always make me smile, but you seem to have bath time down to a fine art and wait to see if the puppy cut wins out..lol. x
ReplyDeleteI've seen samples of those adorable Clearly Besotted Egyptian cat stamps and just fell in love with them. YES PLEASE to a chance to add this to my stash. Bonnie's card is both clever and cute...a wonderful combination!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love it when pups stand on their hind legs to peek over and into something?
I love Bonnie's card, so many fun details! You know how much I love both cats and Clearly Besotted, so I'd love to be in the draw
ReplyDeleteJane
Oh, that's a lovely card. I agree with what you wrote - it's such a clever way to use the textured paper for the pyramids. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI would like to be entered in the prize draw too, if possible, please. :)
Bonnie's Pyramid Kitties card is just adorable. Please enter me in the draw. My entry this time is a true "snippets" card, where I used up a few of the Christmasy snippets I have colected.
ReplyDeleteOh what an amazingly adorable card by Bonnie, and a big YES PLEASE to this prize. We can't have real kitties in our house, due to allergies, but no one said we can't have kitty stamps!
ReplyDeleteI vote for puppy cut for Dudley, especially in the summer. He'll thank you for it, I promise!
Just playing for fun. Don’t want to be in the draw.
ReplyDeleteLove the stories of Dudley always makes me smile.

Hi Di, also hanging my head in shame as I've been AWOL for ages!! Gorgeous catty card and I love the idea of Dudley as a Bath Burrito. Yes please to cute kitty stamps. Hugs, April xx
ReplyDeleteSo happy I managed to find the playground again after having been absent for so long. The current OCC class is just perfect for using up scraps.
ReplyDeleteBonnie's card is really sweet, as are the CB images.
Even so, I'm just playing for fun this time.

Super cad from Bonnie - I'm playing just for fun this time xx
ReplyDeletewow, super cute inspiration and the prize! I love Egypt and it has a special meaning in our family, especially for my parents. We all have been there and we would like to travel there also with our kids. After covid-19-era, I think ...
ReplyDeleteYes for the amazing prize, please.
Oh, we had a bathtub day for our Emma too - she doesn't like it very much although she adores every piece of water in the nature. We were at the seaside previous week and on constant search for dog beach.
crafty hugs xx
Bonnie's card is delightful :-) A big YES PLEASE to this prize,so cute Egyptian kitty!
ReplyDeleteStay safe, Majda
