Hello again! Mixed bag of weather here - but Spring is certainly trying hard to spring!
Time for another snippets challenge and also another lovely Guest Designer! This time it's Lesley G of 'Lesley's Craft Room' - and she's brought us more than one card plus a super prize to spoil us a bit:
Oh my word - this is well above and beyond the call of duty - three cards! All three are fabulous of course and I know that Lesley has written a post with lots of detail about the making of the cards and also a video I believe.
Many of you will know Lesley as a Stampin Up Demonstrator - which is really a bit of an understatement. Lesley runs classes in her home (not during current times sadly), is super-talented, has a team of SU Demonstrators and many customers - all of whom love her for being such a lovely, caring lady.
SaRn has been lucky enough to go to Lesley's on many an occasion. I live too far away but do look on her as a friend as well as my SU demonstrator. And on top of all this - she's one of our regular Snippets Playmates of course! Three cheers for Lesley - wave your hockey sticks girls!
Here's a photo of the prize from Lesley for this fortnight:
Two lovely parts to this challenge's prize - which I won't be splitting by the way. First of all there's a 'Time of Year' set of stamps which Lesley showcased in the first card of the above series - super versatile for various occasions from 'Christmas' through to 'Birthdays' and also 'Thinking of You'. Secondly there's a super bold' Happy Birthday' die. Lesley made two cards using the die, shown as cards 2 and 3 above. Of course, both parts of the prize are Stampin' Up!
It's times like this I wish I could sneak an entry into the Playground incognito!
As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks
and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 20th March.
The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same
day.
It's a maximum of ONE entry, please say in a comment if you wish
to play and be a possible winner of the prize. Please also link back to
the Playground in your blog post to be eligible for the draw.
Remember, if you link into the Playground and don't say clearly that you
want to be in the draw in a comment on here, then you will be bypassed
if your name comes out of Mr Linky. I'm sure you all know I ask for a
positive 'yes' on the blog post itself - just in case you're only
playing for fun - otherwise I don't add you to my little list.
Please also remember that I only allow a total of nine
other challenges, which makes 10 in total, when you enter a snippets
make into the Playground.
Dudley is looking so smart right now - Len finally finished off trimming him after I did the bottom of his ears and end of his tail plume and he's done a great job! We've been working on clipping his claws 2-4 at a time - depending on how much of a fight Dudley puts up. Whenever possible, I prefer to do it on my own and just catch him at the right moment during his brushing and combing sessions. Some days it's obviously not going to be worth trying so this has been a real lesson in patience and 'dog psychology' for sure.
Speaking of 'dog psychology' - late Saturday afternoon we were busy together with something, being watched by Dudley as usual. I said something that wasn't agreeable to Len and he spoke pretty sharply to me in response. Dudley gave out one single, quite low but warning, 'woof' ........ and glared right at Len. Great way to defuse tension for sure - we both cracked up laughing, although Dudley still looked pretty defensive on 'Team Pixie' - tee, hee. It's that invisible thread 'woof' string I had inserted in his back! I think we're all probably overdue some space right now!
Ruby's Memory, ......... I had one final try to donate on Saturday and it worked! Hooray :) A receipt and letter should come through this week - hopefully electronically as I think they need every penny. Our donation, including Gift Aid, was £25. Happy Dance here!
Rather worryingly, our lovely Playmate
Connie of My Grammy's Attic is in hospital with COVID pneumonia - that was the situation as I typed much of this post this on Wednesday. She managed to send me a brief email and I know we all wish her a good and speedy recovery. I know for a fact that Connie has been so careful and it just shows that none of us are safe until we've been vaccinated and this wretched virus is finally beaten into submission. Yes, some of us have had side effects from the vaccination but none of us have grown a unicorn's horn ...........yet! And it's infinitely preferable to catching the 'real thing'! So if you're hesitating - please think of others and have the jab.
And, no surprise, with a rather busy week behind me I'm still playing catch up on commenting on Challenge 397. More than halfway as I rush off to groom Dudley then cook Saturday's evening meal - be patient, I will get there.
Stay safe and be kind.
Lots of love from us all - Parsnip,
Dudley and of course me.
Wow, Lesley HAS been busy with her trio of beautiful cards. I’ll be a Yes Please for the super SU prize.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Dudley is looking smart and I had to smile when I read about his ‘woof’ to put Len in his place. lol. Sad news that Connie is in hospital, I hope she makes a speedy recovery. xx
I always enjoy playing along and seeing all the wonderful inspiration. Thanks for encouraging me (us) to use our snippets effectively. It makes me happy using them. Hope you're having a blessed week. Yes please on the prize for me this time.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Karen L

ReplyDeleteLovely to see Lesley as a guest designer - I follow her blog. She has been busy with three great inspirations for us. I reckon it has to be a 'yes please' from me this time around - great fan of SU products.
ReplyDeleteSuch Beautiful and inspirational cards from Leslie. I had to laugh at the "warning" woof, ours used to do that, so funny.
ReplyDeleteKeep safe

Surprise! I actually got some of those snippets out of the box and onto a card! Lesley's cards are awesome and so is the prize, but I'm just playing for fun. Take care and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteLovely cards and generous prize on offer. Nana Connie is a Teamie of mine on Challenges for Days and we wish her a speedy recovery. When will this Virus stop disrupting our lives? And Yes to the prize, thank you. Donna W.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous inspiration and I love the prize! Definitely playing this week! I love that Dudley was defending you against Len HA!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. I love big sentiments so yes please for the prize. That is precious of Dudley to woof his disapproval of Len. Pass on my get well wishes to your friend Connie. I hope she recovers quickly. No fun being in the hospital.
ReplyDeleteYou have been so busy with those three lovely samples! Yes please for entering in the draw.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for Connie health issues, I wish her a speedy recovery.
Glad that Len finally finished off trimming Dudley, waiting for a photo! :D
Hugs and cuddles to him!
Wow what a fun trio of cards! I love the first one with the interactive fold out panel...need to make one of those! Funny story about Dudley ... our puppy probably will gravitate to our daughter who takes care of her during the day (since she is still on virtual school). Praying for Connie.
ReplyDeleteWell done to Lesley with her three fantastic cards and a wonderful two part prize too, and love your story of Dudley being your protector and giving a warning woof to Len..lol. Pleased that Dudley is also looking a smart little dog apart from a few toe nails that still need cutting. I will be playing just for fun if I get a card in this time. x
ReplyDeleteLeslie has done well, 3 lovely cards, very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteYes Please count me in for the prize draw, I love the HB die and the sentiment stamps are so versatile : )
Fabulous cards from Lesley and I would love a chance of winning the prize, please.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Dudley is still keeping you on your toes!
Kath x
Lesley has been very busy with her fabulous card and a great prize too. I will be a Yes please for the draw. So sweet of Dudly being your protector and I hope Connie makes a speedy recovery xx
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards from Lesley, and it’s a definite yes please for the draw, thanks Di. That is a fabulous sentiment!
ReplyDeleteJanice x
Brilliant selection of cards Di. Hugs, Carol S.xx
ReplyDeleteWonderfully inspiring cards & a lovely prize, but I'll keep my name out of the draw this time. We tried cutting our first Schnauzer's nails--many, many years ago. Maybe we got one nail cut--can't remember, but I do remember hubby & I were both bloody! That was the last time we tried to do it! Your dog psychology story cracked me up & had to read it to hubby who also got a kick out of it! Spring is definitely trying to show up here--daffodils all in bloom & some beautifully sunny hours--but then it's back to cool & damp. Just hope my lilac blooms this year. Hugs, Greta
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards from Lesley, but I already have very similar stash so playing for fun this time. Hope Connie is making a speedy recovery. What a timely reminder to make sure we have our jabs - BOTH of them. Although I'd be delighted if I grew a unicorn's horn, but it doesn't seem to have happened... yet... maybe after the second dose.
ReplyDeleteYes, please to the prize. I love your Dudley stories and am glad the grooming is getting easier. I'm hoping by the time you read this, Connie is feeling better and on the mend. My extended family has been getting vaccinated and I'm hoping that when we all have them we will be able to get together. In the meantime, we are still taking care as this virus seems very sneaky. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYes for the prize. Lovely cards.
ReplyDeleteLesley is kind and generous both with her time and gift and with the inspiration she has given us with these awesome card designs! Bravo!! I'm very sorry to hear about Connie being unwell, especially when she's been so careful. Thank you for letting us know, Di. And thank you for sharing the amusing story of your little white knight (literally) coming to your aid! These little dogs are so very intuitive and sensitive to tone of voice and what's going on! Not to mention how you can read their emotion in their eyes. I've seen that "glare" and it's for real! Take care and keep on enjoying your pooch! Don't you two ever wonder what you did with your time BD? :) xoxo Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteWow, Lesley was busy!! All three cards are fabulous and show off the prize so well. I'm going to play just for fun this time, though. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI don't know about anyone else, but I have been sitting here hoping we will get a peek at Sir Dudley with his new haircut soon. I love that you and Len have kept at it and made it a lockdown project! My poor Toby is looking rather bedraggled and may need your services soon himself, haha!
ReplyDeleteHow worrisome that Connie is struggling to recover from COVID. I left her a message on her blog and hope she is back home soon and feeling better. I get my second vaccination tomorrow and will feel much relieved to have something to fight this terrible virus with now.
Before I forget, YES PLEASE to this wonderful prize pack. Lesley's cards are all beautiful but that fancy fold one always impresses me! Thank you for guest designing, and for offering this prize Lesley.
Beautiful cards, GD Lesley... and a big YES Please to those wonderful SU prizes. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLovely cards! And beautiful prize.....yes please!
ReplyDeleteInspiring work by Lesley! I like the big letters of the die and the stamps are so useful, so I say yes to the prize.
ReplyDeleteLucky you over there in the UK: so many people got the vaccin already. We still have to wait....
Stay safe,
Lia xx
Well done Dudders on his protective "woof" - go team Pixie!
ReplyDeleteGet well vibes being sent in the direction of Connie, for her speedy and complete recovery too.
I'm just playing for fun this time around, and because it's an excuse to use up some of those pesky snippets!
Happy Friday all, stay safe if you have the same wild and wet weather as we do!
Kathyk
So glad to hear that Dudley 'defends' you - and defuses situations :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful prizes - i will say yes to them, thank you
Stay safe
Blessings
Maxine
What a busy bee Lesley has been with these wonderful samples and what a generous prize too - it's a yes please from me to enter the draw. Lesley is also my SU demo and I too can vouch for her excellent service if anyone is looking to buy SU products. Dudley sounds just about ready now for a photo opportunity to wow his fans - well done you and Len for keeping at his grooming. I love the way dogs are peace-keepers in the family and if they don't understand what's going on, they'll give a warning anyway! Thank you so much for persevering with the donation to the NI rescue. I'm sure it is a comfort to Lynne to know that other dogs in the same situation as little Ruby will be helped. I'm so sorry to hear Connie has been taken ill and wish her a speedy recovery. Hugs, Vicky xx
ReplyDeleteWell first before I forget, I reread the rules as it has been awhile since I have played, so YES to the draw of prizes. We tried to groom our dog (a goldendoodle) and the word TRY is the word LOL, I bought a set of dog grooming tools only to see when I opened them they were full of dog hair, ugh, looks like they had been a return, so he goes to the groomers about every 5 to 6 weeks and he loves his what we call 'spa' day! Sorry I haven't been here in awhile but the week between xmas and New years I had a mini stroke which caused me to have veritgo and was hospitalized for a week, and now am recovering from and getting used to my new meds, they make me dizzy and light headed!..sorry to hear anyone has covid it is such a wicked disease, we had our first vaccine and am waiting for times for our 2nd, which should be on the 31st. Hope this finds you all well, take care!!
ReplyDeleteYes Please to this challenge prize and thank you to Lesley for being guest designer. All three of her cards are so different from each other but all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour story about Dudley reminds me of when Toby lived with us (he was my dog, but went to go live with my parents once I had children as Toby wasn't thrilled to share with them, lol). He was always so protective of me that we had to be super careful when we had him out in public. He would growl at anyone who came near me. I guess he thought it was his job to be my bodyguard!
Love the inspiration using sentiments die as the focus of the card! I took a slightly large sentiment to play along and am pleased with the result. Thank you for the inspirations.
ReplyDeleteYes, I would like to be in the draw for the lucky prize.
Great days to all. Stay safe and Be Happy.
Always looking forward to participate in your lovely Challenge. This time I used lots and lots of thing that I almost forgot that I have. Your challenge inspires me to brows my stash.
ReplyDeleteYes for the prize - large dies please.
Di and all who have emailed to wish me well - I'm home! Far from fully recovered; I tire quickly and am on oxygen for the time being but the home nurse says she sees improvement each day, even if I'm not seeing it yet. I'm sure I just have high (and unrealistic) expectations about how quickly I should be progressing. Nonetheless, being home with the fur babies is wonderful. :-D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards from Lesley! Love the pretty papers used on the first card. The golf card is really fun & love the design. That 'happy birthday' die is fabulous! I'd love to play for the prize, thank you, Di! (And YAY for Connie now being home & doing better).
ReplyDeleteHi Di, Good to hear all is well for Connie! I trust you are all well too.
ReplyDeleteJust added my card for the challenge - would love to wing the SU goodies this time around - I too like the look of the slimline cards - but have too much stash of the old stuff I don't think I will get to any soon :) Stay safe & well - Cheers Maurs xxx
Fab cards from Lesley and that first fold is on my "to do list" but I think Lesley's taken it to a whole other level than the one I saw.
ReplyDeleteYes please to the lovely prize, just entered my card. L x
