Pixie's Snippets Playgrounds Weeks 208/209 Celebration - Prize G

Today this is the snippets card I made. It was made a while back so it has appeared on my blog previously as am still taking things fairly easy here:

I used:

- 4" x 6" Kraft card blank

- robin and holly stamps from the Woodware 'Tweet Birds' set (in fact these little guys could be coloured differently to make little blue tits or such), stamped onto a snippet of white card and coloured with Pro Markers

- then cut with a die from the Spellbinders 'Resplendent Rectangles' set and a little red gem added as the holly berry

- sentiment was stamped using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' using a stamp from the Personal Impressions 'Many Greetings' set

- the background papers are snippets from LOTV's 'Classic Christmas' paper pad

I wonder how many of you have noticed that LOTV have very few different paper pads in their online shop now? They were down to just 10 different ones when I last peeked. They've moved to smaller premises and closed their lovely shop. Also my impression, from a newsletter, is that they will be concentrating on stamps and some of the peripheral supplies will no longer be sold. I suspect that this is almost certainly the paper pads - these are showing as limited stocks right now. Such a shame as I loved their papers, and do wonder what else might follow in the reduction of their ranges - so this could be last chance saloon ladies! :(

And this is today's prize:
It's the stamp set I used on my snippets card - a Woodware 'Tweet Birds' stamp set with nine little birdies for you to play with, plus a couple of sentiments and two holly sprigs. The birds are about 1.25" in size - would be cute for paper piecing too :) Most importantly, I have three sets of these stamps to give away.

As usual, just add a comment underneath this post if you'd like to be in the draw for today's prize of the 'Tweet Birds' stamp sets. At the end of all of the celebrations I'll do a massive draw session using Mr Linky - which is on the main snippets post HERE - so you do have to have entered at least one snippets make to be in with a chance :) Maximum of three entries please.

Lovely card, Di. Beautiful backing paper - it will be a shame if LOTV discontinue their paper pads. :-(

  7. Because I'm still on my self imposed no new paper I hadn't realised that they were scaling back, so thank you for the information Di. I just popped over to see what was going on there and they have moved to a smaller premises that is also going to be a coffee shop?! They'll be a pick up for stamps and a coffee shop, they mustn't be doing as well financially which is sad but predictable as so many craft companies have hit very hard times over the last couple of years.

I love these robins too Di but I'd love the PB stamps or other dies too so won't say yes lol! Karen xx

  8. Love how you found perfectly matching papers for your image! I will decline this one too Di as I feel many others can create more wonderful creations using this than my stamping skills will permit!!

  13. I love this card and the gorgeous stamps - I think Woodware stamps must be designed with me in mind, most of the sets I return to over and over again have come from them. So it's a huge YES PLEASE to these gorgeous birdies.
It's a great pity that so many businesses are struggling and having to make cutbacks. I suppose it's partly due to the massive amount of competition out there - new brands seem to be appearing daily - and partly because the biggest, best known brands can afford more advertising and are stocked by the TV shopping channels and big chains like Hobbycraft and The Range. Very convenient for us, but they take our support away from brands that need it more.

  14. What a sweet tweet card Di..they are cute birdies...yes please to the draw. I noticed how LOTV are scaling back. So sad but I did think they made a huge error closing their blog and challenge and they branched into sewing which spread them very thin. They were huge in the day and we're some of the first stamps I bought. Enjoy these in between days. Hugs xx

NO, THANK YOU from me, though. Short on storage space so trying to be good!!!

PS. Does it help putting 'yes' or 'no' in caps for you for prize draws? I'm presuming it does which is why I started doing it. X

    1. Hi Donna - I read all comments properly so caps or no caps is fine with me chick! :)

I just found my Penny Black die lying buried, still in its packet, on the desk here - from the day I finally couldn't even move out of bed! How sad is that - I've been stroking it to make up though! :) xx

  31. It's so wonderful to see you creating such gorgeous cards, Di, and your generosity is becoming legend throughout Blogland!! Thank you for the info about Chuck and the loss of followers. I've had many emails with him over the years (sadly!) and he is always so helpful. I do subscribe to him, but I haven't been getting anything, so thank you for the reminder so I can go back in and subscribe again. Maybe he dropped me cuz I'm such a pest, lol!

I hope and Len have a wonderful New Year's celebration! I wish you the best of good health in the new year!! That's all. With that, the rest is easy, right?! Love and hugs, Darnell

Sorry for shouting but that would be such a fabulous stamp set to win. You wonderful card gave me already couple of ideas on how to use them. Um, I don't think I've seen that die before you used on your card...looks very nice (non-symmetrical edge and the stitches going around).

Hope you will be having a wonderful Crafting Year 2016!

  39. Thanks for the heads up on LOTV Di, you are a mine of information :-) This paper is particularly nice, I'll have to check out what's left over there. These are such cute birdies, but I don't think I'd do them justice so I'll leave myself out of this one, ta, Donna xx
