...........I made another Christmas card :) Our local robin has been hopping around quite happily too so the image I used seemed really appropriate:
Last week I'd unearthed our 2011 Christmas cards and sorted out which ones could be kept for recycling. Having seen a lot of Hazel's makes using recycled cards, it was time to give it a whirl.
I used:
- 6" x 6" square white card stock
- backing paper from a pack by My Mind's Eye - free with Cardmaking and Papercraft
- toning pale plain green pearlescent card plus some red card from the snippets folder
- trimmed down Christmas card - you can't see but it's beautifully embossed, both the main image plus additional leaves on the white background - not done by me I hasten to add!!
- red pearl stones from stash
- Craftwork Cards Christmas sentiment
I'm entering this into Hazel's current challenge over at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge which is 'Seeing red'. It can be a little or a lot of red - so I just might return with a card featuring a shed load of red. :)
Hope you all have a great week, whatever you're doing.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love robins...xxx
ReplyDeleteI am still recovering from the tale of the pogo stick incident Di. I'm not into pogo sticks on account of the two black eyes it gives me but do you have stilts in the playground cos I just might drop in for a play if you do :-)
ReplyDeleteI love robins so this card is a hit for me.
Hugs,
A x
Oh Annie, I played for many happy hours on stilts in the playground in Singapore. It was too hot for pogo sticks - am not even sure they'd been invented back then :))

Fab recycling hon. I also have a couple of robins hopping around my garden. Love the birdsong xxx
ReplyDeleteI just adore robins so that card is just perfect! Love Debbie xXx
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing Robins in the garden too, so sweet little birds. They're certainly enjoying the food I put out for them. Lovely card Di - Robins just tell you it's Christmas don't they! Karen x
ReplyDeleteI'm still chuckling about the pogo sticks! Love the card, Di - that robin would have been too good to put aside, so glad to see that you've recycled it - and I love the background paper (I've got that somewhere) - thanks for joining in my CHNC challenge 62 - hope to see you again soon - perhaps with a shedload of red! x
ReplyDeleteReally lovely card. Love the recycling of the Robin card.

Snow! Up here we are basking in sunshine and blue, blue sky today - yesterday wasn't too shabby either so astounded to hear you had snow. We do, however, have a resident robin and his consort in the garden ... and very cheeky chirpy they are too. Love your card ... you would have thought the paper had been designed especially to coordinate with your recycled topper it is such a good match. The pearly red berries are fab. Clearly I was a deprived child because I don't remember playing with either pogo sticks or stilts - what have I missed?!?! :) Elizabeth x
ReplyDeleteWe haven't seen any snow yet either and it's a glorious day today.
ReplyDeleteLove your card Di, I still have my cards to sort out from Christmas! Carol x
Me again!
ReplyDeleteQuite happy for you to mention the card saving tip on WOYWW. I haven't joined in yet although I often look at the entries!
I've always thought it was a bit mean to do this but the end result is no different so I'm going to take the bull by the horns and do it again lol.

Oh love this card Di. I'm a big bird fan!
ReplyDeleteLast night (the middle of the night) I spotted a coyote peeing on my bird feeder. Don't know what that's about.......
Hugs,
Kay

ReplyDeleteLovely card, I love the way the backing paper echoes the main image.
