At the risk of being a bit 'samey' - here's a slightly different card to the other one, published on here fairly recently.
A lot of the images in the Hunkydory pads don't really lend themselves to being cut down from the very generous 4" x 6" size, but some certainly do - such as the one I used on this card:
I used:
- 6" x 6" square white card blank
- an image from the Hunkydory Little Book of 'Sparkling Season' toppers, cut down to a square
- mounted the image onto a piece of deep red silk/satin mirri card, cut just slightly larger than the image
- next, glued the image panel in the centre of the card
- finally stamped the sentiment using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink and a stamp
from Phill Martin's 'Scribbled Christmas Sentiment Corners'
I found the best way to check for possible images to cut down was just to have a couple of pieces of paper to blank off areas of the image and see if it still works OK.
And, of course I made three the same :)
It's a great card Di...nothing samey as a super design can be used in so many ways. These images are really fun xx

Beautiful card Di. I did wrap the vellum over the top and bottom edges and attached to the back of the stamped panel with double sided tape, sorry for not making that clear xx
ReplyDeleteAdorable card, love these Hunkydory images, so modern but cute! The sentiment in the corner is just perfect!
ReplyDeletebeautiful !
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in art class, they had us make two L shapes out of cardstock so we could check for cutting down our art. We cut down our stuff a lot. I like your card, particularly that font.
ReplyDeleteGreat image and love that corner sentiment, what a great idea.

ReplyDeleteOh I love this card, Di! The sentiment treatment is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! xxx
ReplyDeleteBeen so busy with the bathroom crisis that I nearly missed this one. Brilliant ! Looks so classy and as you say quite a lot of the hunkydory images can be cut down with out loosing too much of the detail. Iiv'e been using some of those hunky dory kits we got as freebies from the work shops. Hugs Mrs A.
