Merry Monday #152 - Lime, turquoise and white

The current challenge over at Merry Monday is 'lime, turquoise and white' - what a fabulous combination! This is the inspiration photo:

 And this is my entry:
Needless to say, it was quite sunny when I took the photo, as a consequence the colours look quite faded - they're much more vivid in real life. I tried again later when the sun had disappeared, not any better so you'll have to take my word for it :(

I used:

- 6" x 6" square white card stock

- lime green backing card topped with a slightly smaller layer of turquoise - both are Core-dinations card

- the Memory Box 'Flowering Christmas Tree' die and lime green Core-dinations card - which I'd cut out of the large square of lime before starting any layering. Then I cut another tree using the same die and white card stock, snipped off the flowers and popped them on top of the green tree

- the corner was die cut using a lovely corner die which came free with 'Papercraft Essentials' magazine, I added the flower in white to pick up the white flowers on the tree

- sentiment is stamped using Funstamps 'Small Merry Christmas' and SU's 'Tempting Turquoise' ink before being punched out using SU's 'Small oval' punch then popped onto a punched scalloped lime green oval

- added little lime green sparkly gems to the large flowers plus one in the centre of the corner flower

- final touch, as it looked a bit bare in parts, a sprinkling of lime green gems here and there on the background

There was a lot of sticking involved in the making of this card - so I'm also taking it over to Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #222 (stick it any which way you like) as well as Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra for April, where it's always 'anything goes'. Three challenges with one card - wahoo!

  8. Your tree is just beautiful with the white flowers and pretty bling! I always have distorted colors when taking photos of cards with green color - I think it's just a green thing ;)
