I have a friend who has the good, or possibly bad fortune, to have a Birthday on New Years Day. The bad fortune is possibly 'cos often folk forget her Birthday in the aftermath of Christmas, and I guess they don't always double up on presents. The good fortune however is that she always has a big family party 'cos New Year is a celebration in itself :)
Here's the card I made for her this year:
I used:
- A6 white card blank
- stamp is an Anita's one, no name though. Stamped using SU's 'Smoky Slate' and then paper pieced using a Back to Basics piece of paper, which I also used behind the image layer
- SU 'Smoky Slate' card stock for the 'frames'
Job done!
Hope you had a great time Angie! And I hope you all had a great time welcoming in the New Year. All the best everyone for 2014!!

I knew a couple who got married on New Year's Day. I wondered how many would still be hung over for the wedding and if anyone would ever be sober enough to remember their anniversary which makes it sound like I know a bunch of alcoholics.
ReplyDeleteFun card! Hope your friend has a fabulous birthday and knows we're all celebrating her big day! No, really!
Great card. Happy New Year. Anne x

Oh my goodness, I've got that stamp somewhere, don't think I ever thought to paper piece the parcels though, it looks fab! Happy new year to you, going to search through my wooden stamp drawer later, it is so neglected! Looking forward to another year of visiting ! Julie xxx
ReplyDeleteOh my that stamp brings back memories I used to use it such a lot. A great stamp and I love how you have used it. Sorry Di but I think you may be seeing a version of your idea very shortly in the snippets playground. Mmmm gotta find the stamp first of course - could be tricky - not been seen for years - may have left the building!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your family.

Beautiful card, your friend will love it. My boss got married on Christmas Day as that was the only day all their families were in town as like a lot of people, they're scattered about! Can't imagine that, what do you chose to celebrate? Christmas or your Wedding Anniversary!
