I used:
- 6" x 6" square white card stock
- Penny Black Stickeroo from the 'Snowflakes Falling' sheet with an icicle border along the top made by covering a snippet of card with double sided sticky sheet, die cutting the icicles using Marianne Creatable LR0135 die, removed top layer of sticky and then covered with sparkly stuff. I keep a little box of these strips ready made, very handy too
- turquoise Core'dinations card for the main backing, behind the image and also the punched strip down the left hand side (I used Martha Stewarts 'Daisy Dot' punch down each edge). So funny, it's only just as am typing and looking to check the name of the punch used I realise I meant to pick 'Aspen Snowflake' out of the MS punches box - what a Dumbo, but waaaay too late to change it now! They are pretty similar and I didn't have me specs on at the time - if you squint perhaps you'll see how I made the mistake :)
- the snowflakes backing card is a snippet, make unknown, and at least THAT isn't daisies ............... I just double checked
- the white iridescent ribbon came from my ribbon box, then I added a little Christmas Tree charm using iridescent and silver cord
And this card, daisy edging and all (duh), is also for the following challenges:
Ooooer, and I can just squeak into Penny Black's Saturday Challenge where the theme is Christmas in July.

Oh my goodness...this is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea for the "snow" drift at the top.
I like the idea of pre cutting them and keeping them in a little box...perfect for Little Miss C and Little Mr P to use! I am going to give that a try too as would so come in handy...
Smiled when I looked close at the background paper...I have it too I think! Amazing how the whole world round, we create with many of the same things! lol
This card is gorgeous, love your design and snowman

Morning Di
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite Christmas sentiment stamps!!
Love how you have used it here.
Fabby colour combo and the icicle border looks brilliant!
Hope all is good with you. Have a great day.

Gorgeous card Di. What a good idea to make the icicle strips up front. That is my worst ever die for getting the cut piece out, even when I use release paper. Good old Stickeroos. Still earning their keep for you. I had a look at mine the other day. I'd had them for so long I had forgotten what was there. perhaps I should do a Stickeroo run of cards next. Kate x

Super card Di, love the sentiment. Do love some glitter, must remember to use some soon. xx Flora
ReplyDeleteI just love this card, everything is just spot on, even the daisy border, would have thought they were snowflakes myself and so would everyone else if you hadn't owned up.

The colors just drew me in immediately, and that glittered icy border dazzled me big-time! This is just gorgeous Di!
ReplyDeleteThe 8x7" scalloped cards were from Hobbycraft Di, I buy a pack of 50 whenever they have them on special offer. The card is better quality and much thicker than the from packs from CWC - also about half the price too Karen x
ReplyDeleteI love that quote and the sparkling icicles! I need some cooling off!
