Grey, red and white - just because

I was determined to enter a card for Enfys' first challenge - the theme of which is black, red and white or grey, red and white. I saw that a few entries had used black so I plumped for grey 'just because' - I sometimes do things 'just because' :)
I took umpteen photos of this flipping card because to me the image looks 'wonky' - I even got the ruler out again to double check but it's absolutely straight. So, I'm just gonna have to live with the best I can do - this camera is likely to take a trip into space with my toe behind it before long!

I used:

- 6" x 6" square white card stock

- backing paper from a Papermania Capsule Collection Mono Paper pack - which looked like lace to me so I punched one edge using a Martha Stewart deep lace edge punch

- the lovely heart stamp is by Penny Black, called 'Love Is the Message'. Shame on me, I've had this for ages and might have used it just once before :( inked it with a Brilliance Dewdrops Ink Pad called 'Pearlescent Poppy'

- the red backing card came from my stash of Core'dinations card stock

- grey ribbon from stash

- red pearls also from stash, bought in Hobbycraft

I've spotted a few challenges currently running that I'd like to enter this into, although usually I just go for one challenge at a time. They are:

Going Buggy challenge - Black or Grey plus Red and White

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Floral Frenzy
For this challenge you had to use a PB stamp and have flowers somewhere on your creation, either the image itself or the card. I hope I covered that OK :)?

Oldie but a Goodies Challenge - Have a Heart
The stamp I used is well over six months old, yikes - as well as everything else on this card!!

Allsorts Challenge - One or more Hearts

Edit: My watchful buddy Sarn has alerted me to the fact that this would also cover St. Luke's Hospice Challenge for this month which is Love and Lace

  4. I love your card Di. I think black can be a bit harsh and grey is much softer and warmer. Yours is the second card I've seen this week using the lovely Penny Black stamp. It is gorgeous, and yours looks straight enough to me (That's from someone who is renowned for having something wonky on all her cards!). Kate x

  10. A very beautiful and striking card Di. Grey paper is not something I use alot. You have used it to perfection!
Odd question for you, how is it that our homes are filled with multiple colours yet when we empty the hoover/dyson or whatever, the dust is always grey - oh and a little glitter even if we haven't used it for months?!!

  11. Lovely card the grey and red go so well together, not so harsh as black. It looks straight to me, so be kind to yor camera!!!

  12. Try putting it on your scanner and copy it from there. It should look straight the. the only time you can't do that is if the card has thicker embellishments. Then it goes out of focus. xx Maggie

  13. Hi Di,

I will have to look for silicone glue as I don't have any. Thanks for the "interpretation".

Your card looks so lovely. I like the grey with the red and white. Very nice.

You'll have to put Guadlupe Rubber Stamp Co. on your list when you are in Santa Fe. If you click on the name on my post it will take you to their site.

    Hugs,
    Kay

PS I saw Annie's post where you offered to help her with the wedding invites -- how I wish I lived in your neighborhood -- hopping back and forth between you two!
