I should have added this to my blog post of yesterday - after I wrote about using hairspray to seal a piece of gilding flakes work.
I've used my Zig pens recently and - although I love the vibrant colours - I just don't like the very flat and matt result. It's too much like the old powder paints we used at school when I was a kid.
Hairspray very likely isn't enough and so to get round it I've used a Wink of Stella Clear Sparkle pen (it's for a Christmas card so that's fine, but it wouldn't always be the case) BUT, how wonderful would it be if you could get a gentle paint on Wink of Stella style gloss only pen. Not thick Glossy Accents, or a spray - just a brush applicator without the added sparkle to give a less matt look to work. Is there a gap in the bulging market?
Or do you know of a product - easy application, not a spray and preferably a gentle brush like Wink of Stella but with no sparkles?
That's my current quest and so far it isn't getting very far either! SOB!
Hi Miss Di, wondering if you have a clear embossing pen and powders? I generally use a clear embossing pen and powder combination when the area is small to add clear highlights, adding lenses to a pair of glasses type of thing. Does not have the brush like tip of Wink of stella.... Have a wonderful week... Megan

ReplyDeleteNow that HAS set me thinking Alice! Besides the laminator I also have some clear glossy adhesive sheet - adhesive on one side only. Gosh it would be tricky but perhaps I could die cut the images once again in the clear glossy sheet and try to position them over the images. Hmm, it's food for thought - OR, perhaps the laminator and then die cut them once again. Decisions! xxx

DeleteI googled ‘craft gloss paint clear’ and a lot of things came up. Not sure if any of them are what you are looking for, but it might be worth a look. x

DeleteWhat about glossy Mod Podge? It’s a glue and a sealer. You could tip some MP into a container and use a brush to paint it on?

ReplyDeleteI love all the creative suggestions people are making, but do you really want to have to go over your image a second time after you've coloured it with your Zigs? I tried and tried to like my Zigs but just never did so I ended up selling mine. I'm much happier watercolouring with good old watercolour paints or using something like Tombow markers if I want the marker style of colouring.
