Mia is now a teenager

Grand daughter Mia recently celebrated her 13th Birthday. Her main interest is still ballet, so a die set I bought a while ago had it's first outing:

I used:

- 5.5" x 4.25" white card blank, side opening

- snippets of lightly patterned lemon, pink and blue card - found tucked in the back of a Me to You 'Spring Chic' paper pack

- the lemon paper was trimmed to very slightly smaller than the card front and glued in place

- the ballet tunic with tutu was die cut from pink paper using a Marianne Creatables LR0467 set of 'ballet' dies - I then used a ball ended tool to add the embossing rather than get the Cuttlebug sout as well as the Altenew Mini die cutting machine I was using

- the hanger and little bow were cut from blue paper using the same set of dies as the ballet tunic and dress

- the sentiment was die cut from more of the blue paper using Joanna Sheen's 'Retro Happy Birthday' die

- stuck the sentiment in place first and then added the hanger, tunic, bow and tutu above at an angle

- a sprinkling of sequins and finally a row of clear gems across the waistline and one on the little bow to add more 'bling'

As it was a first outing for the ballet set of dies, I'm entering this into Darnell's NBUS Challenge #19 HERE.

  8. The ballet outfit cut from that pretty pink paper looks great Di, and the sweet hanger and bow from that soft blue and also with the added gems around the waist and on the bow, completes the outfit beautifully, and I'm sure Mia was delighted with this super card. The background spotted paper and more of the blue for the lovely die cut sentiment, and some pastel coloured sequins are perfect finishing touches too. x

  14. Hi Di

A teenager already? Where did those years go?

A lovely card with lots of sparkle. It feels good to have something stashed away in readiness for making a card you know will be much appreciated doesn't it.

I hope Mia had a wonderful day.

Keep safe Di during these worrying times.

    Love Jules xx

  15. Been out of action for a bit with a tummy bug. Heaven knows how I picked that up . Not like I'm gallivanting around the country or socialising unlike some that are causing the new peaks with the virus. Gosh I was only thinking about the girls the other day and how their Mum was getting on. Not seen grandchildren for nearly a year now and grandson no1 will be 13 too in December. Already got a sulky boy image sorted for him. (He already thinks that having to resume normal schooling again has ruined his whole life.) Anyways this is a gorgeous card. I love the ruffles on the tutu. No good buying for my Grandaughter though as she is very much into karate and kicking the hell out of g.s no 1.
    Hugs Me.
