Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #335

What a week it's been! First of all I've been trying really hard to rest this shoulder, so serious crafting hasn't been 'on the cards'. I tried cutting a die cut using the Cuttlebug earlier in the week and it was just too painful - OK the die was a cheap and complicated one but even so. It's getting better slowly, so long as I don't do anything to 'pull' it again which takes me a step backwards - easier said than done!

And, middle of this last week I had yet another birthday. It was quiet but a lovely day just the same - and HUGE thanks to all you brilliant people who sent cards, gifts and also emails and Facebook messages. I feel so blessed to have such a caring group of friends - mwah! xx

SO, with all that's been going on I don't have a new snippets card for you I'm afraid but there is a prize (in fact, two the same!) if you scroll down this post.

And, a LOT of time has also been spent with Len - sorting out things ready for a new family member who will join us a week on Thursday. Believe me, this little chap is causing quite an upheaval here - plus enough stuff to set up a pet shop!

Meet Dudley (also known as the 'Cool Dude' according to Len, due to his calm and very laid back attitude to life ........so far of course!):
He's a Havanese puppy (born on 22nd July) and the most adorable little fluff ball ever! A few of you do already know he's coming to live with us but this is his first appearance on 'social media' - grin.

This means that life will be rather different for us no doubt and, to be honest, it will do me the world of good to not be ensconced at the desk either crafting or blogging for hours at a time, as so often happens. I think it's the root cause of this shoulder problem really.

I'll carry on crafting when time (and Dudley) allow - and most certainly the Snippets Playground will continue! As I said, the main reason for no card this fortnight is purely as I'm trying to get fit for all those Dudley cuddles ...... and the other things that I know only too well come with a young puppy!! Eeeeep!

However, I recently managed to buy two more identical dies which were a very popular prize a little while ago - it's taken ages for them to be back in stock:

  • Image result for MFT WISH die

I used it HERE on a card if you want to see it in action! It looked like this - and it's about to wing its way to Len's youngest great-nephew Joe this coming week:
It's the MFT 'Wish' die and so versatile, I'm just sorry I couldn't make another card for this post using it. And, I can't lay my hands on any more of that great 'Marble' background stamp right now either. So, it's just the die itself this time - but with two chances.

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 29th September. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day.

It's a maximum of ONE entry and please say in a comment if you wish to play and be a possible winner of the prize(s). Please also link back to the Playground in your blog post to be eligible for the draw. There are two on offer!

Remember, if you link into the Playground and don't say clearly that you're wanting to be in the draw in a comment on here, then you will be bypassed if your name comes out of Mr Linky. I'm sure you all know I ask for a positive 'yes' on the blog post itself - just in case you're playing only for fun - otherwise I ignore you on my little list.

Mr Linky is below - please let me know if you have any problems linking, it's easy for me to sort out so don't struggle on alone :)

Love from Parsnip (currently muttering to himself and building barricades against puppy intrusion!) and of course from me,

  3. What can I say other than Dudley is the star of your post Di. You are right life is going to be different but for the very best of reasons, I couldn't imagine being without our girls.

Not sure if I will get to join in this time, we shall see, the the kidney has been platying up again and also hve the Papworth hospital visit this week, so have to play it by ear.

Take care of that shoulder and I am sure you are counting the days until Thursday.

  4. I am totally in love with adorable Dudley!

Am sure you're right about the computer being root cause of shoulder problem so best to rest it as much as possible.

Please give Dudley a cuddle from his Auntie Sarn on 27th . . . And one for Parsnip too of course! Xxx

  5. Sorry to hear your shoulder is healing so slowly ... may it speed up for you. Also sorry to have missed your birthday and hope you had a lovely day.

As to Dudley, what can I say? He looks adorable and hard work ... certainly whilst you all get used to one another - SO MUCH FUN too though. Already looking forward to further pix from the playground!

    Happy Sunday

  6. Sorry you've been suffering with your shoulder Di, let's hope it improves before you get your little bundle of fun! He is so cute, I love him already. He is very similar to what I imagined Parsnip to be when I first joined the playground :). Will be joining in later with a card x

  9. Hey Di, I know I haven't been around lately - but hopefully that'll change soon. I hear you on the shoulder business since I've done the same thing. Takes a while for it all to feel better.
Little Mr. Dudley is PRECIOUS!!! Fun times are going to be happening now for sure. He's really a cutie and will be a great companion for y'all.

  10. I'm playing for fun this time, Di. Hoping your shoulder is getting better but I truly understand how impossible it is to craft when it's acting up. I was reading the post and got to the part where you said we could check out the week's prize by scrolling down. I scrolled down and the first pic was of your darling little Dudley! He would have made a fantastic prize, for sure. lol

  11. Firstly Happy belated Birthday, hope the shoulder heals soon, it really does take rest and thats the hardest part, especially when it starts to feel better and you forget. Love the bundle of cuteness that is coming your way, you will have such fun. I have not made a card this week but decorated some glasses hope thats ok? Would love to have a chance to win the die, Nicky

  12. Dudley is the most adorable little pup and so hugglesome.... but we still love that darling little Parsnip.

Hope that shoulder heals soon but the best cure is rest. I used to have Ken cranking the handle on my grand calibur so it was no surprise when he thought it was a good idea for me to get an electric one. I still use my TL baby blue for the small dies and can use that with no problem.

The die is super - as is your card - but I'm playing just for fun this time around xx

  13. Belated birthday wishes Di and isn't Dudley the cutest puppy ever! I'll be in the playground soon and would love a chance to win this lovely die, please.

Thanks for keeping the playground open in spite of your ailing shoulder. I don't know how you do it! I hope to be back soon with my card :) Take care of yourself and give Dudley a few cuddles from Aunt Carol :)

We'd love you even if you didn't give us such neat things. [PS your new pup is adorable. How exciting for all of you... including your garden hedgies.]

  16. Say what?!!! It was your birthday?? How comes I didn't know that?! Well I will have to get this marked down in my birthday book. I was hoping your shoulder was doing better Di, but I know all to well how long it takes for things to heal and feel better. OMGosh, is Dudley the cutest ever?!! He is completely and utterly adorable! I can see the snuggles happening now. lol Hopefully he will be a snuggler. I'm sure he will keep you busy, I know Kahlua keeps me and Savannah busy. lol Enjoy this little cutie pie! Hugs, Brenda

  19. Sorry to hear you've been overdoing things and made you shoulder worse. You need to remember to take it easy, although I'm sure that's easier said than done. I'm not really a dog person, but I think I could make an exception for Dudley. What an adorable puppy, so very cute!! I'll be back later with a card, but I'm just playing for fun this week. xx

  20. Oh my goodness--a puppy!! Can't take my eyes off that adorable little Dudley! If only I was close enough for a snuggle! Happy, happy belated birthday, Ms Di--also known as Puppy Momma! Such a neat MFT die I'd love to have, so count me in for the drawing. Hoping your shoulder continues to improve--look at for walking Dudley, although he's smaller than Fritz. I know his tugging on the leash aggravated my shoulder. I'd say it's time to put a Gemini Jr machine on the wishlist for Len! Sending hugs, Greta

  21. Sorry really running late so quick post. Gorgeous and sweet addition to your family, hope Parsnip isn't jealous. Great prize this week and really hope your shoulder improves, let Len or Parsnip hold the lead for a while so it doesn't pull your shoulder even more.
    Take care

You are in for a load of fun with a little puppy...and quite a bit of work as well (but worth it!!). Hope your shoulder improves enough to catch that little rascal for puppy hugs! Yes please to this fun prize.
