Let's crack straight on with my snippets card:
- 4" x 4" square white card blank, side opening
- a snippet of the deep blue pearlescent card I've been using quite a bit recently onto which I embossed the background using a Creative Expressions 'Snow Flurry' stamp and that clumpy WOW 'White Detail' embossing powder.
- set the background panel to one side and then stamped the little snow family using a Wild Rose Studio 'Snowmen' stamp and Memento 'Tuxedo Black ink
- coloured the image using Faber-Castell 'Polychromos' pencils and then very carefully fussy cut it out by hand - I adore this stamp, quite similar to a Penny Black one I have admittedly but it's so cute!
- stamped the sentiment using a stamp from the Crafters Companion Gemini 'Festive phrases' stamp set (some lovely ones in this set and a beautifully flowing font as well) - using the Misti as always and Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink
- die cut the sentiment using a die from The Works 'Stitched Circles' set of dies - and they seem to have stopped selling those. As I've said, with The Works I think they move on very quickly with their ranges
- then trimmed the background 'snow flurry' panel to 3.75" square and glued it onto the card front as by now I knew how much space I needed
- glued the little family of snow people in place and also the sentiment circle
This fortnight's prize, as usual, is very much connected to this week's snippets card and it's a bit of a bumper prize to celebrate seven/eight years - ha, plus I just couldn't fit it into the recently closed Grand Draw! Once again though, I really don't want to split this prize so the same applies - if you win and don't want eveything then feel free to gift it to a friend, at your end of course. And yippee - the Playground Toy Box is now devoid of all things Christmas themed! Did I hear a muttering of 'thank goodness for that!?!
As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 19th January. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day.
It's a maximum of ONE entry and please say in a comment if you wish to play and be a possible winner of the prize. Please also link back to the Playground in your blog post to be eligible for the draw.
Remember, if you link into the Playground and don't say clearly that you're wanting to be in the draw in a comment on here, then you will be bypassed if your name comes out of Mr Linky. I'm sure you all know I ask for a positive 'yes' on the blog post itself - just in case you're playing only for fun - otherwise I ignore you on my little list. Happily, some playmates who thought they couldn't comment have found out how to do it for the Grand Draw so the same will apply of course - I will only check comments on here for 'yes for the prize'.
Mr Linky is below - please let me know if you have any problems linking, it's easy for me to sort out so don't struggle on alone :)
It's about time someone else did some work around there besides you. Nice to hear you have a little cooperations.ReplyDelete
Lovely card and prizes. [Bunny]`
Hi there dear Miss,ReplyDelete
A ginormous, humongous congrats on eighth anniversary, ... Jules began a grand idea and you picked up the baton which definitely deserves a big pat on the back and many thanks resounding across the planet from Downunder.
I’m very grateful for it, tis truly inspirational.
Great snippets card again, and think it’s great Parsnip is helping you with that draw as it certainly is complex to l’il ole me!
Yummy prize indeed. Especially like the clear stamp set, really versatile one! So yes please, will be back all being well soon as working on a card now. Snippety and scrap cardboardy, too! 😆
Praying for you dear Di and all your doings, hugs Shaz in Oz. Xxx 💕💕🙏🏻
Congratulations Di on your eighth anniversary! Such an achievement, you should be proud, especially dealing with all us "children"........like herding cats ! Glad you got some help there ;) ......very cute card, and wow what a bumper prize indeed, so fab, it's anotherReplyDelete
Yes please from me xxx .........just have to remember to enter a card now :)
Wow, eight years...and you're still standing Di!! Good for you! Thank you for all your card shares, tutorials, and of course...the prizes! YES PLEASE to this fabulous giveaway. I just love that background stamp and the assortment of beautiful sentiments.ReplyDelete
Thank Parsnip for me, for being such a help to you...and give Dudley a big hug (even if he's been a naughty pup...because I just can't resist!)

I love your card, such a sweet image and lovely background snow.
Yes Please to the prize draw : )
Happy 7th/8th Anniversary, Di! Such an achievement and the Playground is always a fun place to visit. Thanks for keeping it going and inspiring us to use our snippets, although the more snippets I use, the more I seem to accumulate! They seem to multiply when I'm not looking!! Your card is beautiful. I love the stamped background, at first glance I thought it was patterned paper, then I realised it was stamped, adding a lovely snowy texture to the card. The little snowman family is so cute and beautifully coloured. I'm a Yes Please for the fabulous prize, it would certainly help to get me motivated for making 2019 Christmas cards. xxReplyDelete
Congratulations on your anniversary - you do a grand job (started by Jules of course) and I love playing along with your challenge (although my snippets drawer never seems to get any smaller!).ReplyDelete

Just love this card with the oh so sweet snowmen. Congratulations on the 7/8th birthday of the blog, well done to Jules for starting it and certainly well done to you for soldiering on for such a long time on our behalf - efforts which are so appreciated by one and all I'm sure, certainly by me as yours is always a 'go to' blog when I see you've posted.ReplyDelete
Another bumper prize for this challenge as well and it is another 'yes please' from me for a chance in the draw. I've just posted my card.
Great that Parsnip is helping and I reckon Dudley would too if he wasn't so busy just being a cute puppy!!
Wow Di, 8 years, many congratulations and thanks always for your generosity and the time you spend running your fab challenge. This is the sweetest card, I love it so yes please to the prize. Daisy went home yesterday so I will be back soon to link up. Love to all. Hugs xxxReplyDelete

Congrats on 7/8 years. Love that card and the prize. The snowfamily are so cute. Please include me in the prize draw. HugzReplyDelete
I'm thinking of participating but have a few questions. What qualifies for entry? Does it have to be inspired by your card or does it only have to contain a Snippet? What exactly is a Snippet?!! - Anything that we've cut? I live in the USA. Would you ship a prize here & how would you handle postage? I'm adding your blog to my feed so I hope you answer me!ReplyDelete
Wow! That is a ginormous achievement! Congratulations from meReplyDelete
Yes please for the prize
Happy Anniversary and a big thank you from me for running the playground over the years. I have done my card, look at me all organised lol. Would love to be in with a chance of winning prize as I love the cord you have made. Love Nicky xReplyDelete
YAY! Congrats and happy anniversary, Di! Incredible accomplishment for an incredible lady (you) with an incredibly kind heart. Here’s to continued success! 🎉ReplyDelete
Your card is absolutely awwdorable. Definitely a yes for me. xx
Congrats Di on your anniversary. The snowmen are adorable.ReplyDelete
Just playin for fun.
In reply to Lynda's questions - I can't get to your blog Lynda and the drop down box on blogger doesn't allow me to do a direct reply. I changed it recently so it could be my settings - I hope this gets to you!ReplyDelete
You asked: I'm thinking of participating but have a few questions. What qualifies for entry? Does it have to be inspired by your card or does it only have to contain a Snippet? What exactly is a Snippet?!! - Anything that we've cut? I live in the USA. Would you ship a prize here & how would you handle postage? I'm adding your blog to my feed so I hope you answer me!
My reply is: Nope Lynda, you most certainly don't have to follow my card for inspiration - most of my cards for the snippets challenge are made to showcase what's going to be that fortnight's prize. So it's always 'Anything goes' and it deoesn't have to be a card even just so long as you use a scrap of something left over (already cut into as you rightly say) such as paper, card, ribbon, woo etc The spectrum is very wide and the only rules I have are on a page you can find along the top bar of my blog - we're here to have fun and that's most important! I do look for clever and inspirational ways to use leftovers/scraps/snippets but don't let that put you off coming to play with us! Yes, I happily send prizes all over the World and postage is always at my own expense. All you need to do is to come and play! Love, Di x
Ha, ha - for woo it should read wool! xReplyDelete
Congratulations on your anniversary, Di! You really are amazing for putting these fun challenges together all these years and being so very, very generous with your prizes! Today's gift is a perfect example of your generosity. Thank you for all you do! Your snowman card couldn't be any more Christmassy and super cute!! Happy New Year and I hope you have a lovely week with Par and Dud! And Len, of course!! Hugs, DarnellReplyDelete
Congratulations on your 7 years of running and making this such a lovely challenge to visit and join in with Di, which I have done since I started blogging over 5 years ago, and thank you for the wonderful prizes you have offered us too over that time and for all your hard work. I love your cute snowmen and the super falling snow and sentiment stamps complement it perfectly, and if I get a card in I am a 'yes please' for this great prize. xReplyDelete
Happy anniversary, Di! Has it been seven years? My oh my, how time flies and we do have fun! I love your snowman family and they look so happy with all that falling snow! Happy new year to all of you!ReplyDelete

Blessings to you, Len, Dudley and of course Parsnip in the new year. BTW, that's a very cute snowman card too, but I'm playing just for fun this week :)ReplyDelete

Happy anniversary, dear Di!ReplyDelete
And a happy new year to you!
I did not dare to comment or to post a card the last weeks. My English is not that good, and I did not quite understand what to do. I thought there will again be "normal times" later on.
Your card is so cute and the prize is fantastic. So I say "Yes, please!" :)
Congrats on both anniversaries!! Such an awesome accomplishment, I think. Your card is so adorable. I love snowmen!! I used to collect them, but had to stop as I couldn't afford to buy a mansion to house them all. LOL Yes, please, for this fun prize.ReplyDelete

Your sweet sense of humor and vast generosity makes this a favorite challenge of us all....in addition to giving us a great excuse to use our scraps!!! :)ReplyDelete
Your card is just adorable. I never make that size of card, but I should because it has such perfect dimensions for including with a gift. Love your little snow family. The colored pencils give them just the right cheery look. Yes, please, to the prize this time around!!!
