- 4" x 4" square white card stock
- LOTV pre-coloured image - I love this little cutie! Die cut with a Spellbinders Nestie hexagon die then matted onto a snippet of SU 'Primrose Petals' card which was cut by drawing round the outer edge of the die then hand cutting. I'm sure I've mentioned this before, on many dies I don't go to the lengths of using the tan mat to emboss the edge - just use a ball ended embossing tool to run round the shape while the card is still in the die
- sentiment, stamped in Memento 'Tuxedo Black' is by Stampendous from their 'Happy Messages' set
Today was a really lovely day with Julia, Jan, Annie and her hubby (Doddy) - stupid me took no piccies but others did. Snort, I bought some DK wool and have been sat sitting this evening trying to crochet and don't think I'm gonna ever hack it. BUT, I also bought some lovely ribbon for cardmaking - best stick to what you know you can do (sort of) huh?!
Great reasoning on that hexagon die! I'm going to have to remember that! What a sweet image and I LOVE that rose that hangs over the edge!ReplyDelete
Like Bonnie, I love the rose hanging over the edge. I have not tried that technique before but it sounds logical so will give it a go once home...ReplyDelete
Love this card...Those toppers are so adorable and suit the hexagon die so well. I love all the images and stamps from LOTV and yours is no esception!
Sounds like lots of fun with "the girls" (and one poor guy)!
PS Thanks for the tip about embossing the edge of the die...brilliant idea.
This is so pretty Di, I have used that 'outside the frame' technique before, but not for a long time - thanks for reminding meReplyDelete
Very cute! I'm glad you got to make good use of your fun new supply :)ReplyDelete
Best crafty wishes!
Love the reasoning on buying the die set, I love mine and also find that the gap between the sizes is to big, thank goodness for my perfect layers...yet another must buy lol. I hadn't thought of using them on my LOTV squares but will now. Hugs, amanda xReplyDelete
Such a beautiful card and loving the hexagon Di with the out of the 'box' rose. XReplyDelete
Love the simplicity of this card Di. Beautiful image.ReplyDelete
It's always good to learn something new and crochet is fairly easy because there is really only one stitch. Once you can do that and know the terminology you have got it!ReplyDelete
I love the card. The mathematician in me is always comfortable with hexagons. They are a very balanced shape. I also like the way the image falls out of the frame. LOTV get it right every time don't they? Kate x
Your comment made me laugh! Perhaps we could form a removals company for lady crafters ;-)ReplyDelete
So, so lovely to see you again yesterday!
Hugs, LLJ 60 xx
Beautiful card, Di. Even prettier in real life too. Love the hexagons and the rose outside the die cut ... something I tried out recently, a bit of a fiddle but worth it for the result. Spotted the photos of you all looking as though you were getting on like a house on fire - lovely happy pics too. Persist with the crochet ... with your talents it will be a doddle to learn :)) Hugs, Elizabeth xxReplyDelete
Hello there Di - this one popped up in my Bloglovin email and I could tell it was yours straight away 'cos of the stand!!! lol. You are right about the image she really is such a cutie and you have turned her into such a great CAS card. Just lovely.ReplyDelete
Hugs to you Sue Pxxx
Great CAS Hexagon card and such a cute LOTV image.ReplyDelete
I hope you Percy Veer with the crochet as it's good fun once you get the hang of it. Lots of You Tube vids if you're struggling - or I'll give you a lesson when I see you next!
Beautiful card Di, I love the hexie template - just made for your image.ReplyDelete
Please don't give up with the crochet, just wished I lived near to you.
Have you any crochet books ????
Gorgeous card with such a pretty girl, love itReplyDelete
Di! Genius! I always use the LOTV images as they are cos the dies I have never seem to work well. Need to get myself the hexagons now, your card looks so good. A trip to The Glitter Pot now I live so near, he he!,Hugs Dee xxReplyDelete
Awww! Such a cutie card there and that rose hangey wotsit is great. I am sure if I try i will c**k it up!ReplyDelete
Now then is Miss Sandra offering to teach us both crochtetching I wunder? It would be good to have some warm blankies for the tweehouse as it sure will be cold very soon.
Fab card Di and you know what you are doing when it comes to papercrafting no sort of about it. I want to be able to crochet but have no idea how - I tried following some basic instructions and still couldn't figure it out. Have a lovely day Karen xReplyDelete
Reasoning vs excuses - I'd stick with reasoning! Great first outing for this hexagon. Have seen the photos on LLJ's blog - sounds like you had lots of fuN!ReplyDelete
I saw some photos on LLJ's blog. I can see how much each of you had! I'm going to have to put a trip your way on my bucket list. Just as soon as my life settles and I know which direction I'm going in....
Always enjoy hearing from you.
Kay (hi to Len)
So beautiful is your card Di gorgeous image too xReplyDelete
Another fab LOTV image, and wow what you have done with it. Loved your out-of-bounds rose...wonderful use of your dies. Had to laugh at your 'stick to what you know you can do' comment. I should heed your advice!! (But I'm having fun. Don't knit - & can't crotchet other than a chain stitch either!) Lovely card, as always. Hugs & TFSReplyDelete
Oooo...... I see Peggy lives close to the Glitter Pot. So do I and it really is a great place to go shopping as stuff just keeps falling in my basket.ReplyDelete
Love the design of the card and what a good idea to use hexagons
Just love the way you have cut the rose to stand over the die, fab idea, really lovely card and I have scrolled down to see what else you have been up to while I have been away and there are some brilliant cards. Sorry to see that you have been out and about again, chaos and mayhem no doubt followed you.ReplyDelete
Great tip - will give it a go one day - lovely image on your topper... Have seen some photos you gals certainly had a nice day and that ice cream looked good !!! MxxReplyDelete
