In praise of coffee

Coffee is my caffeine 'fix' of choice, strong and black.

A first outing for a Stampin' Up set here, so I made two cards very much the same apart from the wording:

So funny, I stamped the coffee cup and second sentiment three times before peering closely at the stamp itself and realising it's actually meant to look smudged! Duh :(

I used:

- 5.75" x 5.75" square cream card blanks

- plain rusty brown card stock, topped with brown corrugated card stock (to emulate coffee cup holders!)

- stamps are from SU's 'Perfect Blend' set, the cup stamped using Versafine 'Vintage Sepia' and the words using SU's 'Real Red'. Then the cup was just fussy cut and popped onto the card using thin sticky pads

- red and cream gingham ribbon from my ribbon box

  1. Two wonderful card, Di. I think they are both great but just love the second Perfect for a girlfriend...perhaps for a thank you card with a gift card tucked inside.

  2. Hello Di,

Nice cards (of course). I love the SU stamp sets, although I haven't bought any in a while.

I like the phrase "fussy cut."

  4. Had to smile at your striving for perfection using a stamp which is meant to look 'smudgy' - nice card for any occasion. Going back to a previous post - curiosity got the better of me and I just had to try a loom band bracelet!!

  16. I think it is meant to look smudged because you are all hopped up on caffeine! Great cards and a fun stamp set. I made a project to make you go squee! with this stamp set. It is a mini coffee cup with a mini lid, done up all purty with chocolate covered espresso beans in it. Of course now I want mini coffee cups with lids to play with!
