Another two for Rudolph Day, including one for Hazel too

This is my third entry into Sarn's brilliant Rudolph Day Challenge - two cards, which will just count as just one entry of course 'cos you can only have three in total:

But. it's another two for the Christmas card box - which is beginning to look pretty healthy :)

I confess, I found these cards partly assembled which rummaging for something yesterday and then I stumbled across the embroidered red and gold embroidered 'toppers' to add - pure fluke. Maybe I'm on a 'use it up' roll like Sarn is?

I used:

- A6 white linen cards - these ones fold into three so that the ribbon is tucked in between two layers at the front of the card, I bought a ton of those absolutely ages ago for some unknown reason. They could be good for die cutting apertures in the front portions but I hadn't even heard of die cutting back in those days so truly am not sure what possessed me :(

- wide gold lurex ribbon

- peel offs (ack!!)- although that isn't really fair is it as they do still have their uses

- really  ancient red and gold topper embroidered thingies, beautifully made. Had to fix them using the glue gun - why will I never, ever, learn not to poke my finger into the softened glue, ouch!

And wow, how fortuitous (big word there) - the new challenge over at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge is 'Bells' - so the second card qualifies :)

Elizabeth remarked that there was no Friday Feast yesterday, I do have a recipe but am trying to avoid sitting here typing for ages as we have a loooong journey ahead of us this coming week and my back is playing silly wotsits. It might mean I have to curtail the snippets roll call dramatically too - if I do then I hope you understand.

  1. Two great cards - love the ribbon and the embroidered toppers - very different.

Got to agree with you about peel-offs - they have their uses.

I've made the same mistake by buying some huge shaped cards - sometimes I wish I had a stop and think key on this keyboard ... it would save me from pressing the submit order button :))

  6. Oh I LIKE these. Any card that one can get made speedily is a plus in my book. These are lovely, don't look like they were 'quick cards' either. Very pretty. Hope your trip is just wonderful & your back eases up. You'll have to keep a journal (!LOL!) and tell us about all your adventures when you get home. Hugs.
