For one of our Snippets Playmates

Today is Gilly's Wedding Day! We've been following the preparations - so I made this card from all of us in the Snippets Playground:

Yeah, right, another one of my clangers - I raced to make it in double quick time ready to post off on Thursday then realised I can't find or don't have Gilly's address :( How dumb was that?! Of course, responding to email will be waaaay down her list of priorities at the moment so let's just hope the day goes really well.

I used:

- 6" x 6" square white petal edged card stock

- peel off Wedding dress, looks as if it's made by Stampendous

- doves and rings embellishment by Artoz Artwork

- sentiment by Craftwork Cards

- strip of pink edging card from snippets folder

- pink pearls from Hobbycraft

- white organza ribbon with silver hearts on from the ribbon box, bought in Germany but am sure I've since seen it in Hobbycraft

The addition of some pink is because I checked Gilly's Wedding invitations on her blog and saw that they had pink, albeit a deeper rose pink, ribbon on them. Any excuse to use pink is just fine and dandy by me.

Many congratulations and love to you Gilly, and of course Jamie, from all of your Snippets Playmates. Just watch out for rustling bushes and whispering - we could be watching the proceedings with trimmers for a guard of honour and buckets of snippet confetti at the ready!

PS when my son's yr 6 teacher got married her class formed a line of honour with crossed rulers for her and her new hubby to walk under! Very cute!

  2. This is gorgeous Di, love the simplicity of it. I think Mrs A was planning a guard of honour with the pogo sticks....oops think that was meant to be a secret! Best wishes to Gilly and Jamie. Carol x

  4. I'vwe been punching holes in loads of negative film (don't ask) so will that do for confetti?
Lovely card and maybe Gilly will see it on here. Hugs Mrs A.

  5. Di, that card is as delicious as an elegant frosted wedding cake! It's a shame you can't send it.

Have you tried lurking on the Intertube? I know me and the Mister are in there when you search, whether we want to be or not! So you never know. I just heard a (not Playground) online friend's mother passed away and I want to send a card, so I thought what the heck? and asked Mr. Google. It took looking through a couple of layers, but sure enough, there it was. Just a thought.

Thanks for making the card on behalf of everyone!

  8. Hi Di

What a gorgeous card for Gilly .. .. I dread to think how much confetti we would have if we used up all our snippets on it .. .. the drain blockages that are happening all over the country and the flooding everywhere would definitely be our fault!!

I hope the weather is beautiful for the happy couple.

We do actually have a bit of sunshine at the moment.

I have missed lots of lovely posts on your blog Di. Sorry :-( Just been having a back track.

Love the gorgeous thank you card you made and your Rudolph Day Christmas cards.

    Have a lovely weekend.

    Love Jules xx

  15. You've made a lovely card for Gilly - the peel-off is lovely and I love that ribbon. I do hope the weather has been rather better for Gilly up there in Aberdeenshire than it has been here in Ayrshire ... a rather odd mix of rain and sunshine! Anyway, whatever the weather I'm sure it's been a day to remember and I wish Gilly and her new husband, Jamie, a long and happy life together. Hugs, Elizabeth xx
