Friends Forever

I made some small gift boxes with a little gift in to take for friends over the weekend - it's safe to post this now:
Thanks to my lovely friend Sarn I already had the die cut 'pillow boxes' plus even some additional coordinating papers to play with, although I was subsequently lucky enough to find the same SU die (now discontinued) being sold new on eBay.

All I did was to die cut some flowers, top them with a pearl and add a tag and white ribbon - a total steal of an idea from Sarn, once again.

And what was in the little boxes?
Some of you will have giggled at Darnell's lovely earrings the other week and as soon as I saw them on her blog I loved the idea. These ones are studs whereas Darnell's are dangly ones, I love either. Found them being sold on eBay UK, they are silver plated so your earlobes shouldn't drop off, and managed to grab just enough for us. The lady who makes and sells them has just had a baby so isn't really into making more right now - but if you're interested, just leave a comment or send me an email and I'll get in touch with her.

It's home for me today - after a fabulous weekend. At least I didn't stay up until sunrise as has been known previously - but we did miss our chum Mo very much :( We had the most wonderful weather and the menu for Saturday's Dinner had been slightly changed (YAY!) and the whole meal was wonderful!

I spy quite a few entries already into the Playground - but am typing this last little bit of the scheduled post on Sunday evening with one eye open and the other one taking a quick nap - bedtime I think! I'll be round to properly comment ASAP.

  2. Oh, I quite like these, too, Di! Perhaps they will get noticed better than my slightly dangly ones do, which is the point, really! What a perfect gift for your friends and even more perfect wrapping in the darling pillow box with such a festive flower topping!!

Be safe on your return travels and take some time to recover. If it were me, I'd crash after doing all those book marks, etc., and then the Reunion itself ... and you're still posting and keeping an eye on us (drat)! You are a lovely MACHINE!! xxoo Darnell

  4. Very pretty pillow box . . . that die is worth its weight in gold isn't it? Can't imagine why they retired it!

LOVE the earrings (which I did spot over at Darnell's too).

Glad you've had a wonderful reunion weekend. Give yourself a bit of break . . . all the playmates will understand.

    Hugs

  8. What a brillinat gift! The box is wonderful and the earrings made me laugh out loud! Fabulous. Sorry I am not managing to get to the playground at the mo. Ofsted, impending HMI visit and SATs are seriously interfering with my crafting time, although I did manage a couple of days making samples just before half term. Hope to be back playing in a month or so x
