I just got some really lovely small Whimsical Designs sentiments stamps from the USA - they did take a little while to get here but are so worth the wait. Quite a few are small enough to use with the SU 'Word Window' punch and even more fit into the slightly larger SU 'Modern Label' punch just fine - a bit of a find. And this is what I made for a first outing of one of them:
I used:
- A6 cream linen card stock
- Penny Black Stickeroo from the 'Garden Poems' sheet. What's fabulous about this particular stickeroo is that the edge was already 'pinked' and then given a muted distressed look during manufacture
- more cream linen card for the background, which I trimmed using the 'pinking' blade on the Woodware trimmer
- SU 'Rich Razzleberry' card for backings
- sentiment from Whimsical Designs' sentiments set called 'Whimsical Fun - Vol. 1'. Here's the link to the shop - I'm positive it would have been one of you gals who used the range and sent me flying off to buy :) I stamped the sentiment using Memento 'Peanut Brittle' then punched using SU's 'Word Window' punch and layered onto a snippet of 'Rich Razzleberry' punched with SU's 'Modern Label' punch
- a couple of 'Rich Razzleberry' butterflies were punched from a teeny snippet using Woodware's smallest butterfly punch (forgot I had the SU Butterfly die!)
- and the little teensy weensy pink gems on the butterflies are actually 'nail art gems' - I sure do need to get out more!
Wahoo - Friday and the weekend beckons. I hope the sun shines for you all :)
Remember, three entries into the Snippets Playground before Saturday noon UK time gives you a chance to win a 'Water Droplets' stamp..........and an additional chance for another one if you entered three times last week as well. Will you just listen to me please.........................for once?!
Edit: Oh dear, I think there's a bit of confusion. As is the case each week, you only need to enter ONE snippets make to be in the main draw - which this week is the SU stamp set. But, of course doing three entries increases your chances. It's a minimum of three entries a week for the Water Droplets stamp, but that's only because it's a bit of a one-off.

Another gorgeous card with the sticky thingies. I've never heard of these before and they are lovely.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm a bit confused Di. I have entered snippets three times this week because I thought the prize was SU stamps. I'm not sure what is the prize now so if it's the water droplets please pass on to someone else.
Thank you for the fun challenges, awesome stories and lovely friendships Karen xx

I love your last two cards Di - all so different. x Jo
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful flowers and butterflies! Little sentiments are perfect. If you stamp crooked, you can always punch and get it straight.
ReplyDeleteI'm entering another snippet because I wanted to share a story (via a couple of links) about a card drive for a very special young lady.
What a beauty of a card there Di! Great wordy stamps too. NEED those. Where did you buy? Spill the beans!
ReplyDeleteHave a great and yeay SUNNY weekend! Long time since I said that!!

ReplyDeleteFabby sticky wotsits!! Making the most of a wireless connection for quick visits round my fave blogs!Hope BT get their act together as promised by Monday...
ReplyDeleteLove what you have done with this stickeroo, brilliant card and it is funny but this image is what introduced me to you.... hate it,
ReplyDeleteno lol, don't know if you remember but Sarn had entered this image in LIM and I was stunned how she had coloured it using Pro-marker tips and I left her a comment and then up popped you saying you had candy and we all won. Couple of years ago now but everytime I use my Promarker tips I think of you (aahh) have got quite a few more since then.
Have a great weekend, a break from the washing me thinks, well you have to wash everything in this weather, unfortunately it has all to be ironed.

Lovely card, Di. I like the flowery Stickeroo - funny, we've both used one on our cards today - and I like the placement of the teeny butterflies. I really must try to remember that the correct name for the SU punch is 'Word Window' - I keep forgetting :( I listened, I listened! Just uploaded my third card in what is probably a vain attempt to win that gorgeous Water Droplets stamp :)) Have a happy weekend. Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteOops! Forgot to say that I love that sentiment too. E xx
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card...Those sentiments are worth their weight in gold to fit so easily into the SU punches. That is just so handy!!!
