Run, run, as fast as you can

"You can't catch me! I'm the Gingerbread Man!"

I have to be honest, for some reason I find gingerbread men a bit scary - and it must go back to that childhood story, or perhaps the Shrek films :(

But, the current challenge over at Merry Monday is 'Gingerbread Man/Woman' and I wanted to join in regardless:
The front, crumbs though, the 'white icing' looks distinctly 'shonky' - it's much better in real life I promise.
And the inside.

I used:

- white card stock, cut and folded to make a 6" x 6" square centre opening card

- SU's 'Riding Hood Red' card stock

- papers from the 'Cosy Christmas' collection, free with Quick Cards Made Easy magazine ages ago

- the gingerbread man image (shudder) was a Mo Manning freebie, coloured with Pro Markers and then some 'dobbles' of Stickles and Liquid Pearls added

- the sentiment is from Woodware's 'Tipsy Tree' set - I masked off the word 'tree' at the bottom before inking with SU's 'Real Red' and then removed the masking tape before stamping

- dies used are Spellbinders 'Wonky Squares'

This spooky little fella is going to be hidden away now until Christmas!

I don't like the look of them either...and how are you supposed to feel when you are sitting there with the dilemma of which body part to eat first!

Cute card though! You did make the best of it!!! lol

  2. I'm glad you found your gingerbread man, Di! I don't think he looks spooky at all, but it would be spooky to have one jump off the pan and run away! I sure wouldn't chase it!

  3. He looks cute and yummy enough to bite his arms and head off! LOL At least he can't hurt you then :)
This turned out so cute, and way to push yourself to work with something you're not overly fond of!

  12. Another great card, Di, inside and out - fab papers and I like your wonky squares. I quite like gingerbread men but never eat them ... like jelly babies ... it seems such a cruelty to bite into them! It's clowns I really don't like, don't have them in the house, and you won't ever see me make a card featuring one. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  14. Fab card, Di! great papers too. We did a topic on the gingerbread man at school and asked the children to predict whether one would float or sink. Then we tried it out - they sank, but then rose to the surface all pale and wobbly - the stuff of horror films, lol!

  15. A great card Di - I particularly like the wonky dies, and the gingerbread man looks good enough to eat, as does the gingerbread house in the previous card. A bit of a theme going on there, methinks. Thanks for the nudge, lol, I shall be entering my card tomorrow, and another, especially made for you on a Sunday (hehe!) Lynn x

  16. I think he's cute as can be. Shonky? That's a new term for me! Love the folded card - and your little fella is a perfect closure. The inside is so pretty with the bright strips and love that you were able to add the wonky square as part of your sentiment. Yummy. TFS & hugs to you & Parsnip.
