Pixies Crafty Snippets Playground - Week 88

My snippets card for this week has safely arrived at its destination - having flown a few thousand miles:
It was sent with a parcel to Kay in New Mexico - I bet its little wings were weary too :)

I used:

- 6" x 6" square white card stock

- all patterned papers came from the selection Kay sent me, there is one full sheet and the rest are snippets carefully squirrelled away in the packet

- stamped image is Woodware's 'Patchwork Owl', the branch and leaves were coloured with  Pro Markers and the body was paper pieced, Glossy Accents on the eyes really brought him alive :) I did the background in the usual way using a template, TH 'Tumbled Glass' ink and a mini duster brush. The image was die cut with a Nesties hexagon die and mounted onto a hand cut snippet of plain pink card

- sentiment is from the fabulous Hero Arts 'Live Life' set, stamped in black Memento then trimmed and popped onto a snippet of pink card

- ribbon came from the ribbon box which was then finished off with a little owl charm, tied on using iridescent cord

So, onto this week's little 'picks, typing this on Saturday before going out to party so it's a bit of a rush through I'm afraid:
I love the vibrancy of this lovely snippets card made by Elizabeth - it reminds me of when Summer begins to change into Autumn.
Viv made this really fabulous card, almost white on white with just some touches of pastel blue.

AND, although it isn't a snippets card you truly ought to see this next card made by Viv - absolutely STUNNING! I think it should walk away with more than one prize from the challenges Viv entered - particularly the Cuttlebug Mania Challenge!
See what I mean?
I seem to be on a 'white' roll this week - this really CAS Christmas card immediately caught my eye - beautifully made by Carol L.

And Eve dashed in, just as I was looking for the keys to lock the Playground gates, with this divine card - LOVE the butterflies!

As always, each and every one of you made some fabulous snippets cards this week - to check them out just go here.

We have two new playmates this week - a huge welcome to Christine and KathyK. Hope you come back to play again!

And the winner of last week's prize (the set of leaf dies plus the Christmas sentiments) is:
Well done Sue, can you please drop me an email (to di_wray@hotmail.com) with your snail mail address and they will be in the post to you pronto! I think this is the first Playground win for Sue, plus she almost didn't link her lovely snippets card - thinking it didn't have much in the way of snippets on it. Thankfully I encouraged her to link - and remember girls, even one little snippet counts!

And, this week's prize came about due to Dumbo here losing a favourite sentiment stamp from a set on the desk. After hunting high and low I ordered another set as my waste bin had been emptied AND it was the day after the wheelie bin had been emptied so I thought it was gone forever. You just know what's coming dontcha :( Yup, the day following me placing the order, the naughty little stamp turned up, firmly clinging to the back of a glossy card.

But, my temporary loss is the Playground's gain, so this week's prize is that new stamp set - Hero Arts 'Live Life', and I used a sentiment from my own set on today's snippets card:
The Playground will run as usual this week with the gates closing at 11am UK time on Saturday 7th September. Maximum of three entries and please say 'No thank you' in a comment if you wish to still play but not be a winner of the stamps this week, as shown above. Mr Linky is below - do please let me know if you have any problems linking, I can sort it out for you quite quickly and am always happy to do so.

I still promise to do that grab button ASAP for the Playground BTW. And for anyone who was waiting for some of the Victoria Sponge Cake I made during the week, yup, the two-legged mouse made short work of it.

I've just submitted my snippets link hope it counts being CAS - never thought I'd say it but I'm loving CAS. Sarah x

  22. Di, your pink patterned paper-pieced owl is genius! And with the charm added? Double genius!!

Thank you for the great highlights. I know it terribly hard to pick, but I do like this new way of just highlighting a few with the photos. Some weeks we don't all get round to everyone, so it's nice to get that spotlight for the spotlighted and the spotlightees. Huh? You know what I mean!

No thank you to that fabulous prize! Have a great week!! Hugs, Darnell (Please tell Mrs. A that I'm sorry I put her pants on the Don Key. I had naught idea she was going off to pick berries!)
