Who needs therapy...............

..........when you have shoes :) This is one of my all time favourite set of stamps, having another little outing:
It's perfect for paper piecing - would have been good for the snippets challenge roll call on Sunday but I used whole new pieces of 6" x 6" paper from a  free pack, and also wanted to catch a challenge before it closes so I'm entering this into the Winter Wonderland Challenge 'Let's Go Shopping'.

I'm also entering it into the current Allsorts Challenge, week 136, which is 'Paper Piecing'.

I used:

- 6" x 6" cream card stock

- 'Window shopping' stamp set by My Favorite Things (I see that the set is still available from Dies to Die For). I used a mix of Pro Markers and paper piecing on the image

- goldish-yellow coloured backing card by Core-dinations

- papers from Memory Keepers 'Travel Light' paper pack - free with Simply Cards and Papercraft

- leaves punched with a Martha Stewart punch and coloured with Marsh Green Pro Marker, flowers and brads from stash (and they were a perfect match!!)

I coloured the background of the stamp with a Pro Marker (Buttercup) and also went over the stamped sentiment to match it in.

My main laptop is refusing to play ball and connect via wi-fi so it's the baby pink one in use right now until in-house IT support sorts it out :( So, if I'm not hopping around too much that's why!

  8. Hello Di, great card - you've perfect paper-piecing and like that you coloured in the sentiment to match the stamp's background - clever idea :)

You asked about the UIU rules - they are pretty flexible and everyone taking part seems to have figured out their own interpretation to suit their basic needs. Me, I need to sit on my hands and not buy anything other than the bare essentials over the year because I have a huge dental bill to pay, for a root filling, and I need new glasses, also expensive because of the special lenses needed ... nothing good comes cheap! Anyways, here's a link to Fran's post which draws up her own set of rules:

So far, though it is early days, I'm doing well and haven't bought a thing since before Christmas - something of a record for me! Shame Christmas itself involves spending a fortune, but there is no way I can cut back on pressies for my family :))

I look forward to hearing whether you are going to join in with UIU or not.

  10. What a great card Di and I am totally with the sentiment.

Afraid I am one of those gals who buy them because they are so pretty, then find I can't wear them because I just can't balance on killer heels. But still nice to look at !

Thank you so much for joining in my Paper Piecing theme at Allsorts this week, good luck and hope you will join us again.
