Here's the card - my first try at a stepper card in this style and kept quite simple as it's for a chap and they don't go for lace and flowers (well, most of 'em don't....if yours does, check your wardrobe!):
I used:
- deep red card stock for the stepper card
- Lili of the Valley stamp 'Playing Guitar' - coloured with Pro Markers
- deep red backing for the image from snippets
- black and silver 'music' paper - from snippets
- Lili of the Valley sentiment stamped in deep red (Dew Drops Pearlescent Red) onto a snippet of white, then layered onto a snippet of black card die cut into a scalloped circle
- shiny black Josy Rose nail heads
A succinct (ha, thought I'd forgotten the big word did you?) posting today. Now, let me back at that wedding stationery :))
Ooops, almost forgot the challenges:
As it was 'snippets to the rescue here' I just have to run to the playground and add this to Jules Crafty Snippets Challenge Week 40.

My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge 27 - 'Remind You of a Song' - this just has to be Elvis Presley and 'You Ain't Nothing but a Hound Dog' :))

Snap! It is my OH's birthday on Saturday as well.
ReplyDeleteThat image is a must have for me. I have some very musical sons, one of whom is a guitar player, and I am always looking for new inspiration for his cards.
I love what you have done with it. I am sure he will be delighted with it. Kate x
Great stepper card hon. I always find male cards more difficult . . . you've done a superb job.
ReplyDeleteHe's gonna love it.
Hugs, Sarn xxx

Cute image and perfect for a guy! I can also hear the dog howling too. Have fun on Saturday!
ReplyDeleteExcellent - I sympathise, lol. My brothers and I play guitar and while I only have one little guitar, I can always borrow from the vast number they have between them - or could until one of them went off to New Zealand :-( The other one buys and sells them, so he always has some pretty good ones on offer when I visit.
ReplyDeleteGreat little card Di and the wedding designs below look really fab. Love the sophisticated colour scheme. x Jo
ReplyDeleteOh wow this is a fantastic stepper card....my favourite design! I must get one of those images and the papers go perfect with it. STUNNING!!!

Excellent card. I tend to avoid stepper cards as I do not seem to get the folds accurate and crisp enough. I must try harder and get it right.
ReplyDeleteHi Di, this is a fabulous stepper card and the image is great the background paper fits in with the image and the red background makes it stand out well and the red font on the sentiment is a nice change to the black we all use truly a lovely card:) Sandra H
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Di, I really love this mage and I love your choice of background papers too. You should have really shocked him though and put a message on saying 'You Rock'

Hi Di
ReplyDeleteA brilliant stepper card .. I have never made one either!!
Yours looks great and I love your image.
My baby boy is guitar mad and I dread to think how many he has now. Both bass guitars and six strings.
They take up more space in his bedroom than his clothes rail does!!! LOL!!!
Fabby use of your snippets Di and a great image too!!
Thank you for sharing in the snippet playground this week.
Love Jules xx
This is fantastic Di. I really love these step cards!! My wardrobe is safe...LOL
ReplyDeleteFantastic stepper card and fantastic guy card! Spot on brilliant! Great background paper, and that image is just perfect! I'm sure he'll love it!

Great card for a guy, I love making male cards as not really a flowery, lacy kinda girl myself so find them easier. Love the stamp and the colouring is perfect.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to the OH - bet he enjoyed the card. Five guitars, huh - that's like having a Cuttlebug, Grand Calibar, Bigshot, Cricut ......... there's another one, just can't remember the name ... where would you keep them all :) Elizabeth x
ReplyDeletegorgeous stepper card Di love the image too thanks for joining us at MMCS hugs Jill xx
ReplyDeletegorgeous card, great snippet make x
ReplyDeleteLove how this card would be brilliant for a teenager, middle-aged, or even an older person... so clever! Love the image and the background papers too - but the way it's all been put together is just so perfect.
ReplyDeleteFrom another wifey whose Hubby plays a few chords every now and then :)
