Half a dozen in one go

Despite the missing mojo, I've cracked on and made another six Christmas cards for the box - all the same. What got me going was a recent purchase of a delightful pre-loved Penny Black stamp from a sweet blogging friend - and this is the result:
I used:

- 4.25" x 5.5" white card blank, tent style

- a piece of white card stock, die cut using the MFT 'Stitched Cover-up Companion - Diagonal' die

- then I used the adorable (1999 design!) pre-loved Penny Black stamp called 'Thinking of you' to stamp the image onto white card stock using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink

- coloured the image using Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils and touches of Sansodor blending fluid where I wanted the colour to be more solid. Then added some clear Wink of Stella to the white fur and bobble on the little mouse's Santa hat

- fussy cut the mouse, leaving a narrow white border and popped him to one side

- I'd already chosen the holly patterned card (a very old but pretty Kanban design) to check the colour shades for the red and green so I die cut it using the same die as before, backed the white panels with double sided adhesive sheet (the medium strength stuff) and popped the patterned panels in place

- used the fussy cut mouse as a guide to position the sentiment in place, using the Misti of course (with six to make it was such a help!). The sentiment is from Uniko's 'Most Wonderful' stamp set, stamped using Memento 'London Fog' grey ink

- peeled off the adhesive backing sheet on the back of the panel and added a layer of fun foam, cut just slightly smaller than the panel

- glued the foam backed panel onto the card front then added the little mouse, using Collall All Purpose glue in a Woodware ultra fine glue applicator

Am entering this into ScrappyMo's Rudolph Days Challenge for August - which runs until the end of the month so you'd best get your (ice) skates on if you haven't already entered!

I now have six patterned panels with the diagonal band across to work with. Any ideas folks?

  4. Fabulous cards Di. 6 in one go...that is fantastic!

Your card is so sweet. You were lucky to find that stamp as it is sure a keeper.
Thanks for the idea about the fun foam. I like the sound of that as it would hold the panel so smooth to the card base.

Thanks for taking part in the August Rudolph Days Challenge.

  12. No Mojo and six cards made... wish I could do that. It's a super layout with that die and I can see why you had to have that adorable little mouse.
As for the remaining patterned panels - well all my inspiration can muster is reverse the design, or you could pass them to Parsnip and see what he comes up with xx

  16. Gorgeous card and glad that you managed six, love the image and how lucky to have bought 6 PB stamps second hand.
I didn't get what you meant at first as I was more worried that you had not linked as I posted mine 5 minutes after you and you had not linked up and I was going to tell you but Scrappy Mo already had.
The only idea I have had is that the bottom smaller section could be for the sentiment and maybe a holly die (if you have one) in the top section. I think that frame would look really good cut out of Christmas paper/card.
Best I can do at short notice.
    Have a good week.

  17. That's the spirit, Di! You don't need any stinkin' mojo juices in order to make a darling set of six more Christmas cards for the stash! And a lovable ETM design it is, too! You presented us with a nice challenge re the snippets you now have, but the truth is, if anyone can figure out a fabulous way to use them, it's YOU!! Hugs, Darnell xxoo
