Crumbs, it's the penultimate Rudolph Day of the year over at Sarn's - how did that happen so soon? Here's my two cards, both identical:
I used:
- A6 cream linen card blank
- SU 'Cherry Cobbler' card stock for the 'frame'
- a further A6 cream linen card blank chopped in half and then trimmed down. I then flipped it to use the smooth reverse of the piece of card as there would be a sentiment stamped
- Christmas washi tape - from a pack of three complementing rolls bought in Hobbycraft a few weeks ago
- after laying down the bottom strips I stamped the sentiment using a stamp from SU's ''Good Greetings' set and SU's 'Mossy Meadow' ink pad
- that made adding the top strip of washi place much easier to align/space
- final touch, an already altered Wild Orchid Crafts poinsettia. Made a load of these way back in November 2011 which you can see here. I'd taken out the garish yellow centres, painted the orangey (shudder) red parts with Anita's Glaze and then dunked them into red glitter which changed them to a much richer red. Once dried they had Papermania sparkly gold brads popped into the centres
So that's my October Rudolph Day offering for Sarn - remember it runs until the end of the month so you could always combine it with your snippets entries :)

What a great way to use washi tape! Love the design. My little collection of washi tape might actually get used now I've seen a great way to use it. Well..... I HAVE used a very small amount already..... it's great for winding round the handle of your suitcase to make it easy to identify on the conveyor belt at the airport. LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove this design Di, great way to use washi tape, Cathy, x

ReplyDeleteTwo superb and very different style of Christmas cards here Di and I just love them and I do remember you making those flowers but shocked to find it was way back in 2011, have you put up with me for over 3 years, can't believe it.
Have a good week hope the workmen are well on schedule, trouble is everything will have to be put back then.

ReplyDeleteThese are right classy. Splendid idea of adding the sentiment before you placed the last bit of washi tape. Good thinking. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteWow! Very effective....now I am off to check out my washi tape...something i have bought a bunch of and rarely use...You may inspire me to start using it.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to stamp and then add the last piece of washi!!!
The first thing I wondered if that was washi tape or paper. Now I know the answer and realize that despite my 200+ rolls of washi I am seriously lacking in good washi! LOL! Love this simple yet elegant and old fashioned looking cards. And really, I'm learning to look at washi differently, not just what I like but what looks good together. Your cards rock!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Christmas cards, Di! Fabulous design and colour combo x
ReplyDeleteLove these Di! x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Rudolph Day cards, Di. The washi tape is lovely and I like the diagonal placement - different and effective. Hugs, Elizabeth xx
