Quick and easy - in a hurry

Things are busy here right now, so I'm possibly late commenting if you came to play in the Playground - and I'm certainly not spending very much time in the craft room. But, I did sneak in yesterday for a quick play:
I used:

- 4" x 4" square white linen card blank

- a square snippet of plain pink card topped with a square snippet of white linen card

- an uncoloured topper (sadly cut a bit off centre during manufacture - in fact the whole set was a bit like that which is perhaps why they lay forgotten for so long) and a pink oval scallop, both from Craftwork Cards, bought ages ago - I coloured the flowers and leaves using TH Distress Ink markers

- the topper had space for words of your own choosing so I stamped 'Just for You' in Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink using a stamp from the 'Everyday Words Happy Birthday' set by Personal Impressions

Isn't it funny, I thought the uncoloured topper was very ordinary (even allowing for it being die cut off centre) and only picked it out for speed - but in fact do quite like the end result.

Many thanks to those of you who kindly left your thoughts, and some links, regarding the white tool storage 'carousel' I asked about the other day. I should have said at the time - Samuel Taylor's in the UK stocks them - the jury is still out here though. So many really valid pros and cons were put forward - still more thought needed. As Len keeps saying about me, I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

  2. Well done! I like this chipper little flower image, and your coloring is very soft & pretty. For a speedy card,it certainly turned out nicely and I liked the way you made it all your own, with the touches of pink. Cute! Don't stress about not visiting...you have a lot on your plate. Life comes first! TFS & Hugs.

  9. Hello Di,

Oh, I love this card. You are so creative and I always enjoy seeing what you've made.

I must admit I bought one of those carousels at the thrift store -- for $5! Now, I don't think I would have bought one in the store but was giddy when I saw it. It still sits empty, however.

    Hugs to you and Len,
    Kay

  13. Funny that your post should follow a Craftwork Cards post on my dashboard.
I love the colours of this card and I have had these toppers and did not recognise it, thought it was a stamp and until you mentioned it did not notice the error.
Don't be doing too much, think of your back.
    Enjoy the weekend.

  17. I'll have to go check out the tool carousel post so I can learn all the pros, cons, and wafflings. I think I would like one but then I realize I don't have a place to put one on my rolltop desk. This new desk (my old developed an alarming lean) has no lip on the top part to keep things from being launched off the back. Anyway.... to card! I find it very simple and lovely. I can see that in its uncolored version it would be very ordinary and not exciting. You gave it excitement and life.
