I found a forgotten stamp

Shame on me, I'd had a woodgrain background stamp since we went to New Mexico well over 18 months ago and only just remembered it the other day. I'm almost sure Kay was with us the day I bought it - happy memories!

There are loads of lovely cards out there at the moment which use either woodgrain stamped backgrounds or woodgrain embossing folders so I had a little play:
I used:

- A6 white card blank

- a snippet of SU's 'Crumb Cake' card stock, stamped using a Stampabilities ''Woodgrain Background' and VersaFine 'Vintage Sepia' ink pad

- popped the background onto a mat of SU's 'Always Artichoke' card stock

- the leaves were die cut from more SU's 'Always Artichoke card stock using a Memory Box die called 'Fresh Foliage'

- the 'daisies' were die cut from a snippet of white card, double layered, using a Joy! die (6002/0024). The yellow centres were punched from a snippet of SU's 'Daffodil Delight' card stock using a standard office issue hole punch (ahem, 'acquired' many years ago)

- the sentiment is another one from the brilliant Personal Impressions 'Everyday Words Happy Birthday' set, stamped using a Making Memories' Wheatgrass' chalk ink pad, die cut using SU's 'Word Window' then popped onto a snippet of woodgrain stamped background which was punched using SU's 'Modern Label'

  6. Great use of the wood grain stamp to back these fresh looking daisies.

  7. Love it especially the way the white daisies pop off the woodgrain.

  8. "WOW" Di this is truly beautiful l like the woodgrain background and the die it's truly so elegant and beautifully presented xx

  9. This background stamp is amazing...I think it may just look like the woodgrain stamp that I have..and has never seen ink either! lol
    Congrats for getting your inky!

It sure made up into a pretty card. You may just see a bevy of wood grain backgrounds in the playground now!

Yes, Sookwang is a really sticky, heavy duty tape that I use to make my cards. It comes in many widths from super then to very wide. It also comes in 8 1/2 x 11 sheets, perfect for added glitter to an image.

I am so enjoying the consumables freeze. I may even extend it to 100 cards! So far I have not even been tempted.

I still buy stamps, dies etc but have only bought one peacock stamp I saw here in the playground. And staying out of the 3 paper craft stores in my area, plus the Michaels etc, gives me more time to craft! lol A hidden bonus!

  10. Gorgeous card, love it.

    Hugs to you Sue Pxxx

I know Sarn said she would push me for free in the playground but I figure, if you aren't giving Parsnip any pocket money, he needs to make his 'spends' somewhere - I'll pay him his 50p!!!

  18. Very cute! Isn't it nice when you find something you forgot you had....not that it happens to me very often!!!
PS I am going to keep my eye on you at the keep trying to pinch my shiny jewels! x
