I needed another little supply of notelets to add in with Playground prizes, plus I fancied trying colouring stamps with Distress Ink markers before actually stamping onto the card. Irene is so good at this and I've admired her fabulous results for ages now. This was my quite simple result:
I used:
- four 4" x 4" square white card blanks
- stamps are all from SU's 'Pocket Silhouettes' set. Coloured with Tim Holtz Distress Ink markers, 'huffed' on to re-moisten the ink (too much information there?) and then stamped onto white card before being cut into ovals with a Nestie die
- little scrabble through the snippets folder for toning snippets of card, which were die cut using a Nesties scalloped oval die - I love the soft scallops on this die set
- sentiments were stamped after being coloured directly onto the stamp with the same co-ordinating TH DI pens, and then punched using SU's 'Word Window' before being layered onto a matching punched SU 'Modern Label'
Job done! Just a shame the colours look a bit washed out in the two bottom cards, it was throwing it down with snow when I took the photo and the light was awful :(

These look great. It has been so long since I "huffed" (lol) will have to give it a try again, as this is a lovely look!
ReplyDeleteThose dies are lovely!
Good job with the coloring and huffing, Di! These are such pretty little note cards!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteThey look great Di. Reminds me that I must have another go with my water soluble wax crayons - they are good for that technique although they tend to produce a more intense colour. x
ReplyDeleteAh Di lovely cards... really love them. ...have that set of stamps and had not thought if using them like that. I love Irene's cards too..did I read snowing in your post? On mobile will need to go back lv Shaz in Oz xxx
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely. It would be worth winning just to get one! I thought at first that the sentiment was a part of the oval die frame.
ReplyDeleteYou can get rid of that snow before I come over next week. I am in summer dresses here! Kate x
All brilliant!!! This is a great technique to create a quick set of notelets to give as gifts.
ReplyDeleteLike the colours you chose.
Hugs Mau xx
SNOW? Did you say SNOW? OMG! Mind you - I got SOAKED on Wednesday night in a deluge I was sorely unprepared for!
ReplyDeleteEnough of that . . .onto your cards . . . loving all these sweet little floral Friend to Friend cards using that technique.

What a darling set of note cards, and each one is beautifully colored and matted! I kick myself every day for not getting this stamp set when it was available!
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty, each one of them. I didn't see any 'washout' on either. Just pure loveliness. Great design for a sweet notecard. Well done, you! Hugs & Happy wkend coming
ReplyDeleteWell blogger has finally let me back in after linking my card!!! these are lovely Di and I can tell you I have 'huffed' a lot today!!! hahaha have a great weekend huggles Sue xx
ReplyDeleteWhat great cards. You created them perfectly. You gals are going to have to stop showing me things I want to try....I'm not getting my craft room cleaned! It's just getting more and more messy! I agree, Irene's works are true beauties.
ReplyDeleteDi these are beautiful little cards. I have always lied these simple flower style stamps and the markers and huffing technique are the perfect way to use them. I also really like the soft scallop frames as well.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any snow here but we have had several vicious hail storms in the last few days.Still the weatherman says it will be warmer over the weekend. Let's hope he's right.

ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous Di! The one thing I am steering clear of is TH's Distress markers - I just know I will love them and want more - so if I haven't got any I don't need any lol! Thank you for my cute note too - forgot to thank you for that in my email. Have a lovely weekend Karen x

Brilliant selection of little cards, love them.
ReplyDeleteWe have had lots of snow up here in Perthshire, the hills were so beautiful this week. Thank goodness it has not come down to us although it is absolutely freezing
Enjoy the weekend

You've done very well with the huff technique and I love your little note cards. They are nice and simple. I always get one marker that insists on being streaky when I try to huff so I'll leave huffing to the experts. Besides, I'm asthmatic. I need to hang onto all the air I can!
