Upcycled bear

Oh, I do prefer to use the term upcycling rather than recycling :) This is another attack on the shop-bought Christmas cards and it's for Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge, where this week's 'theme' is the letter 'P'.

Snigger, I rejected all the penguin cards we seemed to have been sent, in favour of 'paper'. The cute little bear seems to be carrying rolls of wrapping Paper, to wrap Christmas Parcels:
I used:

- 6" x 6" square white card stock

- papers from Echo Park's 'Seasons Greetings' pad, these are printed on both sides and so useful to mix and match

- Spellbinders dies - 'Wonky Squares' and a pennant die

- self-adhesive ribbon from Trimcraft's 'Jolly Happy Christmas' pack

- little red self-adhesive button from Hobbycraft

The 'Wonky Squares' dies are fairly new - thanks to Kath using them here. I can see these dies being the first ones to be tried when Christmas cards are being upcycled :)

Another one for the box and am also adding it to Craftyhazelnuts Christmas Extra Challenge.

Well really its just my crafts that take over a bit and I am not good at putting things back where they belong!! Life's too short to worry much. lol. x Jo

  9. And what's wrong with Penguins I have to ask!! That's a super image, you could easily pretend you coloured it yourself!! Never seen wonky squares before but I do have wonky rectangles which I like very much.

  15. Hello Di, cute upcycled image - and clever to get two Ps covered with your card. Hope to find some time to make a card for this challenge tomorrow. Glad to hear Len is recovering. Alan is improving but still not 100% himself yet - we'll see what tomorrow brings. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  16. I'm with you on the 'upcycled' - once I saw the term, I'm trying to reject 'recycled'. Whatever term - I'm enjoying seeing these treasures. Love your little bear, clever with the 'P'-s, and your red snowflake background makes this little guy 'really Pop'. Good luck in the challenges. Hugs

  18. I think you're right about upcycling - I usually say recycling, but am thinking that in future I might start saying upcycling instead. Love your card and your choice for P - thanks for entering both of my CHNC challenges x
