Martha Stewart was a good girl

...because, this time a packet of MS embellishments I bought in NM came with the promised 10 rather than just four lacy butterflies and six teeny gems :)

I wanted some little cards to enclose with Snippets Playground prizes etc. so made a couple of these for starters, the production line will be going to make more in different colours (mauves and pinks) as they were such fun:
I used:

- 3.75" x 3.75" square white card stock

- deep purple (aubergine really) backing paper from the snippets folder - ages ago I'd bought a pack of quite sturdy but thinner than card envelopes to punch out butterflies for some sample Wedding invitations. Another design was chosen by the happy couple so there I was with nine envelopes left to chop up and file away

- a snippet of white card

- sentiment from the SU 'Four Frames' set stamped using Memento 'Elderberry' and a LOTV stamp from the 'Small General Greetings' set - and then punched out using SU's matching punch

- one of the MS embellishments - the set is called 'Hydrangea'

Yay! It's Friday - hope you all have a great weekend.

I'm supposed to drive up to beyond Oxford for a school reunion Committee meeting to finalise plans for our Summer Reunion in June. But we're all watching the weather forecast - it's held at the National Herb Centre near Banbury. A lovely spot but, out in the wilds and very exposed, I've almost been stuck there previously in snowy conditions :( Don't fancy living on herbs for a few days......although they do sell wine I think :)

  1. Hi Di, those flowers are so pretty and the greeting topper is lovely too. I remember your 'aubergine period' very well - it's a gorgeous colour. Hope the weather holds for you ... but, if in doubt, don't risk it - no amount of herb wine is worth that :) It's getting to be long past my bedtime so I'll bid you goodnight. Hugs Elizabeth xx

Good use of the aubergine...you were smart to chop them up and save them!

Take care on your journey...it sounds like the weather is still a little crazy...maybe take a warm blanket in the car with you.

  10. What a pretty card Di - you're making me feel quite spring-like especially as the sun has come out today AND there's no wind so the feeling has come back into my fingers! Give me a wave as you pass by (vaguely) in my direction and have a great weekend too! Vicky x

  15. Brilliant cute card and what a sweet idea to make a card for the winners, no no no, I am not going to make another comment,as I have spent enough time in the naught corner!
Thank you for reminding me that I have that punch and stamp set, I don't know what it is with SU but I do tend to forget to use what I have.
By the way do not enter me in this weeks challenge. I have just bought some more stickeroo's and some of them I do not like at all and I have been trying to use up some of the ones I have had for ages.
Late posting for 2 reasons, blogger went for a nap and I stabbed myself in the leg with my trusty SU scissors, I can now verify how sharp they are, but not only once but twice, blood everywhere, and not a drop had touched my lips
So, herbs, that's a new name for them??????????????

  16. Well, drink enough wine and you won't really care if all you have to eat is herbs :)

I love this card - the hydrangea blooms are so pretty!

  17. Yes, quite, Di, with enough wine, even herbs would make a lovely din! But I don't want you getting stuck out in a snowstorm; hope it all worked out.

Your card is the prettiest ever! (I'm glad that untrustworthy MS didn't short you this time!)
