A decision has been made.......

......about the Wedding Stationery! Jess and Stuart came over yesterday afternoon and loved the samples (phew!!), and the aubergine is spot-on :) There wasn't a shred of aboulomania (today's long word!) and they almost immediately decided on a later sample style that I made:
The cute little diamante heart shaped ribbon sliders clinched it for sure. The wording is to be changed a bit and will say 'Stuart and Jessica' - plus the addition of their Wedding website and password at the bottom. Minor changes and they liked the font :)

This is the invitation itself - although this sample one says Evening Invitation:
The hotel will produce the place cards, menus and table layout in plenty of time (I hope!), which I'll 'pretty up' for them. Ooops, then there's the Order of Service of course.

We did have a laugh - Jess trotted off with a length of ribbon to use for matching the bridesmaids dresses and it amused us that they will be matched to the stationery, not the other way round :)

So, if you see a mad woman racing round Hampshire today buying up aubergine card from Hobbycraft - that'll be me then :))

It's gonna be busy here as the Save The Date cards need to be ready ASAP. We even had the presence of mind to check the thickness using my posting gauge - and they will go at the normal sized postage rather than large letter.

Sorted............now let the action commence! :)

  2. He, he - that's the design I used for my son's wedding stationery, although all the ribbon was horizontal. Great until you get the fiddly little cards to do, lol. Unfortunately, I gave the diamante hearts to Mum before she went back to New Zealand or I'd have offered you the 70+ medium ones I had left - they're not cheap! I know a reasonable seller, though, if you need a contact... x

  5. Lovely cards, clean and simple and the little heart is perfect - can quite see how it influenced the decision. Hope it isn't raining cats and dogs, as it is here, you're trip out for supplies could be a wet one. So funny to be matching your bridesmaid's dresses to the stationery ... hope Jess finds what she is looking for. Elizabeth x

  6. Hi Di,
I understand exactly how you feel. Trying to anticipate what the couple's wishes are...it's not easy, but you have done a bang-up job. Well done and good luck with the next stage. I'm still working on some Thank You samples. for my nephew...or did you forget those :-))

  10. These are really lovely Di and I hope that you haven't too many to make, I love the simplicity but with a really classy look.
Just one thing though, I have done loads of Wedding Invites and it is not really right that the male name goes first, if you think about it, it is always refered to as The Bride and Groom, the Brides name always comes first in anything to do with a Wedding (except the Stag do lol) see if you can get them to change their minds.
Hope you don't mind me saying this.

  13. That stationary is so lovely, Di. I hope you manage to get enough aubergine card locally, and that the hotel get all the bits and pieces to you in time to pretty up.

  15. Oh Di these are exquisite!! Clean, simple but stunning! The little heart slider is perfect. Hope the hotel gets things done right and in plenty of time. When we got married there were two spelling errors, one being my name. The whole lot had to be reprinted at the last minuet. So funny Jess is matching her bridesmaid's dresses to the stationery but it shows you picked the perfect shade.
