Absolutely no way could I miss Rudolph Day over at ScrappyMo's, despite being in headless chicken mode here, getting ready to go away tomorrow. It's fine to desert the homestead though as I've left Len a mahoosive bucket load of Chilli Con Carne, frozen into several portions, in the freezer :). Give him chilli and he's such a happy bunny! This is a really quick RD card I whipped up, in between stirring the chilli:
I used:
- A6 white card blank
- matt gold backing card
- lightly patterned backing card from a really old paper pad by Dovecraft called 'Let it Snow'
- and then I struggled for hours assembling the Christmas tree with all the teeny baubles, chains and such. What a fibber! It's a topper from an ancient Jolee's Boutique set called 'Christmas Tree' - and I added three of the extra stickers they also included in the set :) Easy peasy and a bit of a cheat I think!
Woot, woot - I picked up a different watermark when editing this photo, bought at the same time as my normal one - and I quite like it too :)

This is a gorgeous tree and I would have believed that you spent hours decorating it. I might have thought you were crazy to do it and I'm glad you had it all ready made! Love your new watermark! Have fun.....
ReplyDeleteI'm with Bonnie -- I assumed you had some awesome die to make that lovely tree.
ReplyDeleteFAB make Di, enjoy your break

Absolutely beautiful! Never would have believed it was a topper! I thought it was die cuts that you painstakingly assembled. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI'd have thought you'd fiddled for hours with the tree (rather like the real thing). Just don't tell anyone it was pre made. I like the watermark. Enjoy the reunion.
ReplyDeleteA fab card - it certainly doesn't look like it was a quick card to make - great tree!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful sticker & card! Love this, Di! Have a totally wonderful time at the reunion! By the way, you should get a commission since I gave in & bought the snowflake embossing folder--LOL!

Wow - that tree is gorgeous! LOVE how you decorated it! Have fun hopefully on your trip and come back safe.
ReplyDeleteDi, it takes skill to 'cheat' and produce such a fantastic card!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't look like a real quick card to whip up Di, but it sure is beautiful!! Love that beautiful tree all decked out. I hope you have a wonderful time on your reunion!! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteGreat look! I was falling for your 'countless hours' stories, because I have a very simple Elizabeth Craft ribbon tree..looks easy...took me forever to get it put together. I'm liking this 3d tree, and it surely doesn't look like any Jolee's I've ever seen. (must be in the operator's hands?!) Love that you've decorated it & made it all your very own. Glad you are leaving the Mr. all set for food while you're away. Hope you have a swell time. Miss you already! Hugs & TFS (oh yeah, Pippa had it right!)
ReplyDeleteI really like the combo of the gold and lightly patterned paper for the base of the card. They really let the stickers shine. Very pretty card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tree you created. I would love to have one just like it in our house for Christmas. Enjoy your trip.
ReplyDeleteI have this Jolee's sticker somewhere in my stash. You've inspired me to actually use... now if I can keep that feeling until I get around to making Christmas cards. You know on December 23rd.
