WOYWW - 168

Quick post from me this week:
I gave up in disgust - you know the feeling that it's not worth continuing with a card? I got that late yesterday so 'upped and ran off' leaving things until later today when hopefully things will fall into place.

Besides which, the 'shove it to the right' pile was threatening to overwhelm the desk:
Sigh, some serious sorting out to be done I think. But, Monday was a much better day - swans and ducks on the river at Salisbury:
But even they weren't fully cooperating - we had to hunt for a group of them that were remotely interested in being fed - I suspect that a mahoosive  busload of 'bread laden tourists' must have beaten us to it :(

For a good snoop round lots of much more productive desks, but perhaps no ducks and swans (in fact I'm not sure why they're here either, perhaps to try to brighten up a very boring desk) do hop over to Julia's - and Happy WOYWW!

  4. I like the look of that CAS card, what's not to like? I'd have had you go to the cathedral and buy me a replacement mug from there that my hubby smashed if I'd realised in time that's where you were going! Hope you had a great day out.

  6. Hello Di,

I can't tell you how many times I have to leave something and come back to it!

I went to a Stampin Up party last week and ordered two stamp sets.... oh, but I thought I was trimming back.

  8. That card is looking good to me...I see wedding when I look at it!

The swans are so gorgeous...we hardly ever see them here...I took buckets of pictures of swans when I was in England. I was so blown away by how many you have.

  10. Hello, Love your swan photos, the stone houses and bricked in walls
awesome. The way you describe your desk pile makes me laugh. I have on too. And the one I showed... is not the only one I have.
    Keep smiling and creating

  11. What pretty swans. Haha... I used to live near a lake. The geese got so used to be fed they would chase you and bite you...if you didn't bring bread!

  16. Salisbury?? Blimey, I'd have dragged you to Fabricland, Franklyn's, BH Fabrics and many other places had I known!! I go shopping there in preference to Swindon, it's only about 30 minutes away from me!

  17. Morning Di!

Yes, Julia knows I'm blogging the photo - though she's probably forgotten! At the time I said "You SO know this is going on the blog..." Hehehehehehe.

Shame the swans weren't co-operating. I swear that that the river birds in Salisbury are the fattest anywhere!

  18. card looks pretty good to me. Salisbury was and interesting place but I don't remember seeing this view. Very peaceful. I went in the mid 90's when they were just getting going with the renovation of the cathedral. Went to Stonehenge from there. Interesting trip. Have a great week and thanks for sharing. Vickie #68

  19. I think your card looks great but I know what you mean. I gave up on a card a few days ago and went back to it next morning, and everything fell into place...

  21. That shove to the side pile is my normal way of creating space in my craftroom, but after the whole new reorganising bit, I am hoping I will be a little better at putting things away (like thats ever going to happen LOL)

  23. I want a closer look at what's in your 'shove it to the side' pile! I can see some stamps peeking out, lovely ribbon, a spiral bound book of some kind..... Hope your card comes together today. Happy WOYWW! Victoria no.87

  24. I love your 'shove it to the right' pile... I have one two, though it's not, at the moment, quite the leaning Tower of Pisa that yours is! Hope inspiration will re-strike with the card... I'm starting with everyone with a 1 in, as I'm at 101 (although last week my number kept changing!)... nice to WOYWW-meet you!

  25. I have shove it piles to the right and the left and the middle is pretty awful now too. A major tidy up is called for. I have never been TO Salisbury, just driven through and round on the way to other places - it is hard to just drop in when yo have a caravan on the back of the motor.Have fun. xx #102

  26. Hi there Di (thanks for your comments on my blog - they are lovely). I would not DARE show my desk - there are piles to the left, right and centre, front and back - and hubby has just been into town to swap something (bless him) and he came back with something else to add to my desk - a fan with a water bottle attached so that I can cool meself down when it gets hot - again. Mind you it does work.

Hugs Sue P (still guffawing after yesterdays story)

  32. We all have a 'shove it to the right' pile Di, though mine is 'to the left', and occasionally it has to be dealt with. But far better to get out in the fresh air and feed the ducks!

  33. That is usually the best thing to do walk away or throw a paddy and give up until later LOL when you come back it all falls into place. Love the unco-operative birds LOL bollocks to the tourists that spoiled your fun.

    Happy crafting

  34. At last, it's taken me ages to get to you - all my fault as I started from back to front today. Anyway, I'm here now and I can't see why that card is giving you angst - it looks good to me.

I see you have a stack of BoBunny paper in the push-back pile - love that brand of paper.

It's not like swans to ignore the prospect of more food, even if a coach load of tourists have just tried to spoil their appetite - nice photos.

  48. Sorry to be so late visiting this week Di.

I think we’ve all been there and had cards in front of us that just aren’t working but it’s somehow reassuring when it happens to someone as talented as you are.

Loving the pictures of the Swans. All I seem to get on the lake near me is Canada Geese and they will eat any time of the day or night, Lol.

    Happy Crafting!

  49. Lovely photos in Salisbury, Di - I went to school there but haven't been back for ages. Love feeding the ducks!

Your desk looks busy and productive, and no evidence of failure as far as I can see.

Thank you for your lovely understanding comment on my blog. I'm not too worried about keeping up at the moment. I've managed to do some creating this afternoon and evening which is nice. Dad is slightly better but still confused, and still in hospital. My sister has come down and is staying with Mum for a couple of days.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
