My snippets are non-standard sized card blank, snippet of thin foam and snippets of green card, all found on my desk - plus the Penny Black Stickeroo that started it all off! |
Dudley Pupdate: The entertainment continues here. Dudley's utterly predictable morning ritual is to have his little bowl of doggie breakfast (in between checking there are no available nibbles to be scrounged from our own breakfast of course).
He then eats his Multi-Vitamin pill with no encouragement (popped in his dry food bowl) - wags his tail a few times and goes off to hunt for his precious pal 'Honka Duck'! He does sometimes forget where he left Honka the night before as I do close my craft room door overnight (lest he should hop up and find the scissor carousel or decide to have a rummage through my waste bin) - but we always take note and steer him in the right direction. The sweetest thing is how a Havanese trots - his little paws go ninety to the dozen, trit-trot, trit-trot! - and from behind, the view is of one very waggy and rather fluffy rear end. You need a trim young man!
But, for now, busy, busy and his only thought each morning is that there's a day to be faced by the 'Honka and Dudley Team' - stand well back!
There's still one week of the current challenge left to run! Make a card and come and play - there's a chance to win a nice prize if you join in the draw! See you on the swings!
Sobering thought, as I was typing this I looked at the date of 5th October and realised that my darling Mum was born 100 years ago today. Bless her, she only lived for 46 of those years - and I do know for sure that she would have adored Dudley Dog! And he, no doubt, would have been her utterly devoted little pal.
Love, as always, from myself and Dudley,
This orchid image is beautiful and what a great idea to add a piece of coordinating card to each one before storing to save time if in a rush for a card, and love the pink and then the added green matted layer also used for the lovely die cut sentiment..a really pretty card Di. I so love your stories of Dudley's doings..he is such a fun little dog. x
ReplyDeleteAwwww happy heavenly birthday to your Mum, so young, that must have been so difficult. I’m sure they’d have been devoted pals, love your Dudley tales π. Pretty, elegant card, I too need to get my paper skates on and catch up with cards. See you on the swings for a play thoughπ xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Di - I’m on the swings already! Come and give me a push please - or you, Lesley!
ReplyDeleteFab PB Stickeroo card. Really pretty image. Top tip about backing the stickers for speedy cards in the future.
I liked Lesley’s “Happy Heavenly Birthday” to your beloved Mum & would like to add my own good wishes. Your Mum was definitely taken too young. *Sigh*
Good old Dudley Waggy Tail though, keeping you amused each morning! Xx
Great forward thinking to have the stickeroos mounted onto toning backgrounds and ready to go. This is a lovely card and good to read more tales of Dudley's day to day life.
ReplyDeleteThe Stickeroo makes a fabulous card Di.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about Dudley, he certainly is a wonderful character.
Your Mum was taken far too young, the same age as my MIL who unfortunately I never got to meet. π xx
My MIL died when my ex-HB and I were in Majorca on honeymoon. To this day am so glad we broke out of the wedding aftermath and visited Rene who surely knew what was ahead. A lovely, very caring lady - and also a Staff Nurse in her time.
DeleteThis Stickeroo sure makes one pretty card and I love the smile sentiment that goes along with it. Having Dudley to fill your days with joy is such a blessing and I'm sure your mum would have adored him as much as you and Len do. My mom would have turned 100 next month too, but yours was taken much too soon at her young age.
ReplyDeleteThose stickeroos really are beautiful Di for a quick but very effective card - I love the watercolour look of them. Happy heavenly birthday to your mum who was definitely taken far too young - like my MIL and indeed FIL neither of whom I ever got to meet. xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card Di, quick or not! My goodness your Mum was so young, life is not fair.
ReplyDeleteThat is funny that Dudley looks for his duck after breakfast. Molly sleeps with her bunny and ignores him all day until she's had her tea, then poor bunny is dragged to the living room for a play session!
This is a lovely card Di and the PB stickeroos sticker is fabulous x
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful Stickeroo Di, they are surely very useful to have at hand when you are in a rush! Great design for this elegant and sweet card , love the green sentiment you added and that rounded corner! A perfect matting too!
ReplyDeleteWell done to organizing your Stikeroos already backed, time saved!
So sorry you lost your dear Mum so far, God bless her. Surely she would have loved Dudley so much, and vice-versa!!
With your tale of Dudley’s morning routine I imagined him very well! You made me giggle with "Honka and Dudley Team", how fun! :)
Lots of cuddles to the busy little chap and big hugs to you!
What a gorgeous card Di - such a beautiful use of the stickaroo!
ReplyDeleteDudley is an entertainment centre in his own right!!
Blessings
Maxine
A lovely card in those gorgeous colours Di - sometimes an image just carries a card! Love how much you adore your little Dudley and what a tribute to your mama too. Hugs, Vicky xx
ReplyDeleteStunning card Di. x
ReplyDeleteI'm starting over, again, reading blogs. I know I could never catch up. But had to stop at this post & I'll browse all. So good to use your Stickeroos! I have some in a drawer going to waste, but now I have them in mind. Always love hearing about Dudley! Just wish we were close enough to meet in person! Your mom certainly died young. I'm so grateful to have lived longer than mine. Life truly is short. Hugs to you, my friend--Greta
