Pink and black with love

This was a really super fast card to make, once I'd thought of what I wanted to do of course:
I used:

- A6 white card stock

- a snippet of pearly pink card

- a snippet of white card

- all lower right hand corners were rounded using Fiskars 'Corner Edger' scissors. They work 'OK' but I'd love to know if anyone can recommend a corner rounder punch, I have a small one but for this type of card I think it isn't big enough - any ideas ladies?

- little piece of 1.5" wide 'cobwebby' pink ribbon from Hobbycraft. I've used their white and cream colours before, but when browsing for Easter ribbons the other week I found two shades of pink - so it was a 'no brainer' of course! The ribbon is just tied together in the centre with a little piece of thread, which was later hidden by the feather and flower

- a single black feather, from a pack bought ages ago in Hobbycraft - popped on with a little bit of hot glue. Do you KNOW how far little wisps of feathers fly when you rootle through a packet? Ha, to make it worse, I sneezed when the wisps tickled - yup, feathers all over the place!

- the black organza rose is from 'Mei Flower' - again added using a little bit of hot glue on a cocktail stick from the glue gun (that tip from Jules works brilliantly, I thank you nicely Jules!)

- the word 'love' from SU's 'Wonderful Words' set was stamped in Memento 'Tuxedo Black' - before I actually did anything to the card - lest I spoilt it at the final hurdle

- matching pink pearls were then added, three underneath the sentiment and one in the centre of the black organza flower

  1. such an elegant card Di, love pink and black together. I have 2 corner rounder punches and both make different size rounders if that makes sense, bought them last year at the Taunton show and think they are by Tonic. Would love a we are memory keepers corner chomper though as this looks easy to use. Hugs, Amanda x

  2. No info on corner rounders...sorry...I have the teensy old Creative Memories one...it is ancient!

Home from the funeral for overnite. Decided I would take the bus to my Mums. Found 2 cards to auto post while I am away to feeling better about that...

Your card is gorgeous. That ribbon is so pretty and the single bloom plus feather on it is amazing!

I nodded my head when you said you stamped straight to card first...I always hold my breath when I do that and then a big sigh when it isn't crooked!!! Or smudged! hehehe

  7. This is very eye catching and I love the pink and black. I have trouble touching feathers but love the effect, so my feathers languish with a rare outing. I have a zutter rounder which is heavy and I messed it up cutting acetate and hubby had to put a fix to it. xx Flora

  8. Hi Di

    A gorgeous make.

Love the flower and feather together .. .. a great look.

My corner rounder is only a small X-Cut one .. .. when I want a bigger curve I draw around part of a circular nestie and cut by hand.

Hope you had a good weekend.

    Love Jules xx

  14. Absolutely beautiful card - clean and unfussy, except for that bit of froth ... the feather, of course :) I really like that 'love' stamp too. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  17. Lovely elegant card Di. I use an X-Cut corner rounder & it's great - they come in a ciolenof sizes to do small corners and 'broader sweep' corners - I tend to use the second one most of the time :-)

  18. How'd I miss this little stunner Miss?
The feather in the middle is a scoop. I keeps all me feathers in a snap close lided box cos they sure so make yer sneeze. Dunno how Sam manages with all dem dere chooks running amok. Not Miss Di or Mrs A. though cos they just sit and hatch nicely together. (That's a thought must ask her if weve dun any laying yet. Could do witha nice eggy). hugs the other Mrs A.
